[20/07 - New Xltronic Weekly Poll]

offline WooferAttack from Milano (Italy) on 2005-07-20 06:54 [#01669248]

Two monumental releases will be out in October... new album
by Boards of Canada (more than 3 years after Geogaddi) and
re-release of Hangable Autobulb by AFX on CD (HAB1 and HAB2,
maybe greates ep by RDJ of ever).

So... choose which one you should buy first... it's not
easy, but try to be strong and take your right decision!

ladies and gentlemen, click here to vote

by the way i'm gonna buy both probably

why a "any of those" option and not a "none of those"
option? ' _ '

this poll seems thoughtlessly made, perhaps you should hand
the torch to someone else who can actually conjure up a good
poll. sorry woofer.

1] - Any was a syntax error, I meant "None", thanks Uzim
2] - I didn't do it quickly, I simlpy wanted a poll with few
options

really? i don't think so, i love this poll

offline uzim on 2005-07-20 07:10 [#01669280]

anyway
i'm more expecting the HAB re-release, even though i don't
listen to Aphex Twin a lot anymore and i'm not sure i'm
gonna buy it... those tracks were excellent for the most
part.
i don't care much for Boards of Canada, especially if it's
"classic Boards" as they say. my copy of Geogaddi has been
collecting dust for months and months.

try to imagine you have just money to buy one album between
those, which one would you choose? this is the means of this
poll (or something similiar)

see the whole picture, this is about purchasing a release
right?

um ^^ i did get into him, for a pretty long time!
otherwise i wouldn't be there... (and my music list is
almost overflowing with RDJ stuff...) i'm just a bit past it
now (sadly, i get the feeling no artist can hold my
attention forever -_-)

(unless you meant Boards of Canada..?)

I think it's a good poll. You can't be expecting
both of them more than the other at the same
time.

i don't know about boc..they'er kinda boring i think. but
aphex is something else..when i start losing interest in him
i go see him live and he gets right on top of my fav list
after that again :) have you seen him play live yet?

uzim: ok! :)

yeah i love aphex. he is my fave musician. and he will
remain always it. but I did not expect from you: BOC are
boring... :/ btw: i didn't see aphex play live yet... i must
do it!

hmm, boc are boring to me..they may be interesting to others
:) when i say boring i mean i couldn't listen to their album
twice in a row. i can enjoy it once per two months or so..

how come you haven't seen him yet? even i saw him in italy
already..twice! :) hopefully he'll come again, as italians
really seem to be into him.

nope...
my left ear kinda prevents me from going to concerts,
unfortunately : /

i never really wanted to see him live anyway, but there are
other artists i would have liked to see but didn't go
because of that...

well, i see a lot of different artists - from etno, jazz,
classic, avantgarde, pop, rock, electronica,
improvisational..everything you can think of - and very
famous and respected artists among them, but honestly, i
haven't seen a better thing then what afx does live..it's
just undescribable. perhaps i always had the luck of seeing
the best of his shows as i read sometimes that ppl weren't
that impressed when they saw him, dunno about that..sorry to
hear about your ear, i hope you work it out somehow!

tridenti, the other time was in bologna on '02. (i was an
idiot for not going to see him when he played in rome and
padova the same week..i'll be sorry for ever about that).

i hope too... ' _'

one particular concert i would have loved to attend but
could in no way was a SunnO))) one... everyone say's it's a
really unique experience, but one part of it being that they
play loud as fuck (150 dB or something)...

now about getting back into an artist that i've been into
then got "bored" of (or just stopped listening to)...
unfortunately so far it never really worked for me; usually
i do get into it again somewhat, but for a very short time
(sometimes barely the album's length). and then i get bored
of it again. = (

oh yeah, i'd like to see them as well! i wish i'd knew what
was the lodness when i saw throbbing gristle couple of weeks
ago - it was the best sound system i've ever heard. the bass
was so tremendous we were all literally shaking.

i usually get bored of artists real quick as well..luckly
there are plenty so i can easily find other likable stuff
:)
the only exception may be aphex..i start appreciating him
more after every gig for some reason..luckly :)

tridenti, i haven't met woofer yet..

Woofer should maybe take the new Sigur Ros in consideration
(it`s gonna be released in autumn).
But, both new Mike Oldfield and Opeth albums will appear
then also, so BoC will recede into the background.
