YAY, Finally the PC version is going to be released on the
7th of June!

Because of the great graphics I might play it again!

Ditto. I fully expect to suffer from early-onset arthritis.
Years of videogames, messing around with double-jointedness,
PC keyboards and handlebar vibes from motorbikes = not too
good for your hands :-/

its about time, I bought the original gta 3 for pc when it
came out and loved it, but I've since lost the cds... can't
wait to get san andreas.

Why ooh why didn't I wait for the PC release in the first
place....

++++ Graphics are way better!
+++ Gameplay is much easier, aiming while driving etc..
+++ Listen to any music I want while playing.
+++ Loading the game in 25sec! (instead of +\-2 minutes)
++ Replay (not really necessary, but PS2 doesn't have it)
++ Audioquality is much better.
+ Maybe a multiplayer option soon.

meh... played this on a really hot day and my graphics card
overheated, due to an unfortunate build up of dust. now i
have to play with a crappy geforce5200

800x600 + graphicdetail=low :(

that's what you get for playing bloody video games on a nice
day. nature's way of telling you to get the fuck outside and
cop on ;P

i did that fucking mission "OG Loc" 8 times last night. I'd
done it 3 times already. Finished it the second time but i
walked into the mission it leads to instead of saving my
game, and lost that one... The other 10 times shit kept
going wrong halfway through. in total i finished it 5 times
but only got back to my crib to save the game on the 10th
time.

damn vagos bastards.. there were some unfortunate endings i
can tell ya.

great game.

I really like gta 3 a lot... and bought san andreas and
don't like it nearly as much now. Too many things are
pissing me off:

-the main car camera feels awkward. If you go reverse it'll
get in front of you then take awhile to get behind you
again. It's hard to see when you go around corners. It feels
like every car is an obstacle in your way. It felt find in
gta 3

-dance dance revolution type shit and having to eat and life
weights, ie. a pointless mindlessly unchallenging side task
you have to do every once in a while.

-well I like the music better I guess

-is it just me or does the on-foot camera feel left-right
reversed? Whenever I try to move it left it goes right? It
didn't feel like that in gta 3. maybe I'm just on crack.

-just causing damage doesn't seem as fun this time. I also
hate when games utilize all 4 shoulder buttons, the suckiest
buttons ever invented. Of course gta 3 did that too I think,
but for some reason I was pressing all the wrong buttons and
facing the wrong ways when trying to simply shoot some guys,
so I just ran them over with my car. gta 3 overall felt much
better.

should've got it for pc. soo much better...

you can even control the camera with the mouse while
driving, look around corners before you jam on the
handbrake. it's so sweet. takes a while of getting used to,
but really really sweet.

can you not invert the joypad axis in the options?

you can in the pc version, but i dunno about ps2.

offline w M w from London (United Kingdom) on 2005-06-24 04:24 [#01642753]
Points: 21454 Status: Regular

you can invert up/down but not left/right. I should play gta
3 again to see if it is indeed opposite from that game. I'll
still continue to play it because I don't have a single god
damn other thing to do, but I just want to piss and moan
about it even though I couldn't code the 2 dimensional wall
grafiti.

As redrum says, you can change the postition of the camera
to almost every position when driving/walking/whatever with
the PC version.

I still hate that the camera can't be hold to it's position
when it's high in the air (cinematic view?). In some
circumstances it would have been awesome to hold the camera
steady in the highest position above the car.

erm.

i just went to my laptop, clicked San Andreas, and suddenly
the fucker is coming up with 2 strips on the screen - one on
each side.

It's set up to be played 1024x768x32 - but it's not
switching to 1024x768 fullscreen. What the fuck is going
on?! I didn't fiddle with the settings, this just suddenly
happened.

I seem to remember reading something similar here a while
ago, i might be mistaken though. Any ideas?

i play it on the playstation 2

i have played the previous other gta games so this game dont
feel so exciting for me as the other two did but is good
indeed

Opposite for me. I beat the other two but I was still super
excited zooming around the countryside and the highways. I
like killing country bumpkins more than city slickers, I got
to live my dream.

Next GTA is going to have so much horsepower behind it,
can't wait.

change the resolution, go into the game then change back to
1024x768. any luck?

yea tried a million times i'm afraid :/ all that happens is
that it *looks* as it should on 1280x1024 or whatever it is,
fills the screen, but the motion is well.. unresponsive. tad
jerky. y'know the way.

then i change back and it's back to the same, strips down
the sides. bogey.

Are your problems solved Aengus?

Funny addition Duble0Syx, did you play around with a picture
or did you really manage to play with the Aphex chain?

btw, I noticed that sometimes cars chase me after I hit
them...this never happened to me with the PS2 version,
anyone else noticed that?

yup, got it fixed! set it to highest res, with low detail
(can't seem to see the difference, apart from the fact that
the mirror in the clothes store is really, really bad) and
it's grand.

I've found that taxi drivers (and, naturally, rival gang
members) are the worst for chasing you if you bump into them
in your car.

I'm going to trade in my PS2 version and get it on Xbox. I
wish there was a way to transfer my save over or something.
I killed a lot of people and I don't want them all to have
died for nothing.

you can do the custom soundtrack on the pc version too.

penexpers: thanks man, all the usual torrent places I go to
have had their san andreas links shut down by rockstar
games.

i use this site cos it gives an overview of all the major
sites. i feel dirty and cheap when downloading torrents, but
i have given rockstar my fair share of cash, and besides,
the game was dated the day it came out.
