it's called 'Perpetuum Mobile', the tracklisting is as
follows:

1. Ich gehe jetzt* (3:31)
2. Perpetuum Mobile* (13:41)
3. Ein leichtes leises Säuseln (4:31)
4. Selbsportrait mit Kater* (6:12)
5. Der Weg ins Freie (4:04)
6. Boreas (3:59)
7. Ein seltener Vogel* (9:14)
8. Ozean und Brandung (3:34)
9. Paradisseits (4:07)
10. Youme & Meyou (4:39)
11. Dead Friends (Around the Corner)** (5:14)
12. Grundstück (3:41)

* = appeared in another version on the Supporter's Album #1
** = appeared on the Supporter's Album #1 (in an identical
version)

and here is the album cover (yes, that's one of
the instruments they used to record it).

it will very probably be like Supporters' Album #1 for the
general feeling/ambiance, since it was recorded at the same
time and shares some tracks; which means close to Silence Is
Sexy (just a little bit harsher/less "classic" maybe, and
longer tracks - now that doesn't mean another
'Headcleaner'.... they've become more quiet and will
probably not come back to their harsh psychotic 80's style,
so if you were just a fan of Kollaps / Zeichnungen / Halber
Mensch don't expect this kind...)

the versions of Perpetuum Mobile, Selbstportrait mit Kater
and Ein Seltener Vogel on S.A.#1 were really good anyway so
if you liked Silence Is Sexy and wanted more... =)

(oh, and it's not out until February 9th/10th, but
apparently it's already leaked - and there will be a limited
edition with a bonus audio dvd. yeah it seems very common to
include a bonus dvd with albums these days...)

2x4 is my favorite album which is IMPOSSSABLE to find. I had
it on tape way back when I was in grade 5 but managed to
lose it last year. I must of lent it to one of my good for
nothing shit eating friends...

bob: they are a 5 piece (or did soem people leave? i think
they did) from germany who really pioneered the whole
industrial/found sound banging rhythms thing. theyve used
jackhammers, blowtorches, sledgehammers, rocks, etc... to
make some really strange rhythms. im sure youve heard the
name blixa bargeld in relation to nick cave's band. well, he
was originally in einstruzende... come to think of it, he
still is, right? yeah, he does vocals alot.

anyway, good stuff.
not my fav ever, but good.

rez > i recommend you try Tabula Rasa...

(i think that's the best one for a start, plus it includes
what's probably the most well-known E.N song: Headcleaner!)

early and later Einstürzende Neubauten are very different,
their early years (80's) was very psycho - harsh - insane...
after that there has been a middle period (i think Fünf Auf
Der Nach Oben Offenen Richterskala is really the junction
point between early Einstürzende and later Neubauten; a
great album by the way), both destructive and constructive;
later E.N (90's, 00's) isn't really destructive anymore,
it's "normal" rock, with still some innovation and, well,
it's good music all the way if you like it. =)

by the way, just out of curiosity... were there any E.N
supporters on the board apart from me?

there was actually a copy of the new album for sale on ebay
too. mute found out though.

neubauten is always good despite whether you like the
rawer\harsher sound of their early days or their refined and
controlled sound of now.

there are two tracks in streaming (apparently it will be two
different tracks each week) on the official website if you
want, to give you a preview of the new album...

(that is, if you haven't downloaded it off soulseek already
of course - you lucky PC-using bastards! =))

here.

Haha, I love that instrument on the cover art, that ''air
cake'' or whatever they call it. It would be fun to break
into their studio and play with all the gadgets. Looking
forward to hearing this stuff.
