Damn...
My friend bought this, and we watched it last night... (Live
in London)

fuck me it was amazing.

Matmos are fucking incredible... I need to sit down with
vespertine and give it a closer listen... cause this show
made me see bjork in a different light.... amazing stuff

however... i think it would be amazing to get the
instrumental tracks to her songs as well... cause the shit
matmos was doing, was just insane... amazing...

wow

the best part, was when matmos was making drum beats by
shuffling playing cards...

THAT was tight!

matmos sure can bring it live, but just so you know, almost
all of those cool sampling ideas and programmed beats are by
bjork on the album.. matmos and other guests basically just
put finishing touches on existing ideas, melodies, and
rhythms

really? We were actually discussing that last night... who
writes all the beats and arrangements for strings etc

so its pretty much all bjork?

vocally

for immediate elaboration on this just look at the
"programming" featurette on the dvd

she talks about this sort of thing in magazine interviews
too

matmos only joined the album recording when it was 90-95%
finished, after being sent numerous demos by bjork

bjork's a musical genius, of all the artists i listen to i
can only name a few at her level and none superior

Check out the extras Matmos redid the beats for the live
show(if I'm remembering correctly) that's why it fucking
rocks so much.

I need to burn this onto a Cd I like the live sound better
than the albums.

yea they redid something like 27 songs from her catalogue
and some of the arrangements ARE better than the album
versions (eg: "an echo, a stain")

you should pick up the live boxed set that came out this
week, it has a whole disc from the vespertine tour. i think
it's like $44 at some of the cheaper places and you get 4
cd's and a bonus dvd

yeah, i remember reading that bjork would present matmos
with really bizarre ideas, like recording the sound of a
pussy willow opening, which they couldnt even manage.

All of her albums, that I own at least, contains rather
detailed credits... She's the composer 90% of the time.
She's often a co-producer and also has her hands on some of
the instruments.

It's like a friend of mine who released an album last year
(swedish "band" called Dungen) - in the demos for the new
one he's playing basically everything. Drums, bass, guitarr,
hammond, flute, violin... And he has these complex
harmonies, I'm very impressed. Few people can pull it off.

well..the best thing about her is that she brings all the
people she wants to work with, producers, mixers..they do
all their stuff on the songs and then she decide which out
of 100 remixes of the same song ends up on the album and
which ones on the singles
unlike other artists who get remixes after the album is
released

during "an echo, a stain" and the final minute of "undo" was
maybe one of the prettiest things ever... i really really
enjoyed possibly maybe as well... gotta watch this again :)
