i've never like torrents for more ambitious music and
soulseek sucks balls so much lately it hurts so i kind of
use these exclusively.

How lame is it when what.cd share your music but won't even
give you a password

Support the entertainment you love by purchasing a new,
original edition.

have you noticed that clone and boomkat and hardwax best
sellers are often limited editions of 300. that's the size
of the retail scene these days. it's all for love now.

it really is, it's all about vinyl releases + digitals now
really. records for the pure love of proper presentation &
sound, and then files for convenience & the ability the
support an artist/a label.

although you can still sell in the 1000s with records, just
gotta be big... i know mahogani/moodymann/kdj still do em up
in the 1000s and sell out, and UR constantly repress their
old catalogue. i like the approach of pressing up a few
hundred initialy, then just doing represses adjusting to
demand. all this relates to vinyl, though... the only recent
CD i bought was the Ceephax live CD, cause it was a direct
sale from the artist and ensured him some profitability.

think about the need to "have" something in "collection".
why ? sometimes it's easier just to stream/listen to stuff
online e.g. from bandcamp - before you decide whether it's
good enough to buy it.

I only need to listen to the samples to decide if the music
sucks nowadays.

(the music sucks.)

Olympic athletes weren’t paid until relatively recently.
Setting a high bar for humanity doesn't always come with a
paycheck I guess. Regardless, I like buying music. Recently
was at Clone records in Rotterdam, definitely worth an
afternoon if you're ever in the area. Well-curated and
thorough collection of vinyls, and friendly staff who bring
you good records based on your listening pile (if you ask
them to)

their polaroid 'wall of fame' - highly recommended shop
