do you know other electronic music artists that use jazz drum breaks and fender rhodes samples and funky basslines like early squarepusher and plaid? what i have in mind kind of sounds like miles davis' electric era too. i definitely am not looking for lounge, nu-jazz kinds of music like bonobo and thievery corporation. it sounds like funk very much that it wouldn't be wrong if you were to name it funk really.
here are some examples: squarepusher - my sound squarepusher - deep fried pizza plaid - slice of cheese and there is this track that kicks in at 15:28 in banksy's "exit through the gift shop" that is just awesome but i don't know what it is since they didn't release a soundtrack yet. but the producer might be Geoff Barrow. if you have the dvd check it out and you'll know what i mean.

You might want to dig up some Mo'Wax records. I can't name you specific examples, because of the label's huge range. Also, check out As One's In With Their Arps, And Moogs, And Jazz And Things. And Underground Resistance's A Hitech Jazz Compilation.

Also Carl Craig's Innerzone Orchestra off-spins. But those might be too obvious, so you've already heard them. 4Hero is another obvious pick.

In With Their Arps, And Moogs, And Jazz And Things and A Hitech Jazz both sound great, though A Hitech Jazz feels a little different then what i was trying to describe, i guess it is too house/techno.

Ian O'Brien - Dark Eye Tango
St Germain-Rose Rouge
The St Germain is pretty mainstream (at least it got regular airplay). Ian O'Brian might be more obscure, but was equally well received at the time of release. Both are a bit more on the cool jazz side of the spectrum.

dark eye tango is very chill, i like it. st. germain is nice too.
robert miles and trilok gurtu - the big picture this one is kind of more jazz than it is electronic i guess, the whole album is great.

Ninja Tune's back catalog is a good place for those sorts of sounds.

i take back the- sounds more like hip hop to me- actually what i am describing sounds like hip hop too. but there is a time connection between hip hop, breaks and drum'n'bass that i can't describe technically.

"i definitely am not looking for lounge, nu-jazz kinds of music"
i take that back. and the "early 90's" in the title sounds kinda irrelevant.
