I noticed that with acid and e. But I think weed gets
better after the times; as well as alcohol.

But fuck alcohol~! If someone was like, "You want this
bottle of vodka, or you want this 1/8 of weed, a Lamborghini
Diablo, a $27 million mansion in Bora Bora, and a mango?", I
be like, "Bitch, just gimme da weed, cuz I got all the otha
shit!"

For me, weed was just a gradual diminishing return until
eventually I just stopped altogether.

I keep hearing people moaning about electronic music and IDM
being dead, i think it's a phychological thing, each
previous decade has introduced new pop music, so you assume
a new decade means anything before it is finished. but if
you think about it electronic music has always been there in
the background and i believe there will always be a place
for it for a long time still. Nothing lasts forever, styles
change slightly and technology brings new things...

for example you have 3d graphics coming along now, i see the
future being a mix of 3d graphics with 3d sound.

imagine being in a room with all the walls being projected
onto giving the illusion that the room is changing shape or
morphing strange abstract shapes, but it's accompanied by 3d
sound which is synced to it?

i believe this is were live music is going, even for the
home environment. i have to go out now, but we can discuss
this in a new thread later. we need to talk about the future
of electronic music and graphics

I agree with you and I remember reading an interview with
Jimi Hendrix about him forseeing the possibility and wonders
of "relaxation and entertainment rooms" or something.

Does anyone have the proper surround system to listen to
Huge Chrome Cylinder Box Unfolding correctly?

yeah i see, i can imagine a chill out room with some really
relaxing 3d projections so tightly mixed to some ambient
music. also the venue could provide comfortable seating.

i think the geometry of the room needs to be calulated into
the computer and then it can be programmed

the link below is what i am talking about, i think this
could be used in a venue to create some beautiful audio
visual experiences, could be ambient.. or like really
intense

just take a break from it and come back to it. there are
other styles and forms of music out there, maybe you just
need a refresh for awhile.

also, in terms of a social movement / culture, in my
estimation IDM has been dead for like 7 or 8 years now?

i actually just came back to these boards to see what people
have been saying about Darkstar?!?! but i can't find the
search function - anyways, these guys are fucking sick!

I disagree there rarndaraki. Ultimately IDM has never
really exactly been alive... And there are plenty of social
movements. i dunno why you wrote culture there. anyway, i
think it's never been dead. No doubt there... Autechre are
performing in Greece in September for the very first time.

The style of hard-hitting well produced beat driven IDM is
dead, and has been dead for years now. That was what I was
in it for.

Clark sucks now IMO, but Empty The Bones Of You is
exactly the kind of shit I'm missing these days.

It's all replaced with faggy dubstep. Minimal bullshit.
"Wobble bass." Artists getting retro or up their own ass
trying to produce weak power ballads with live drums that
sound like crap.
