There's one thing you need to understand about sex in the way that humans do it. It's completely unnatural. As far as nature intended, sex is only useful for procreation. In fact, some animals are completely incapable of having sex off-season. By using thought as an instrument, humans not only use sex to procreate, but also as a pleasure movement, and therefore inheret all the additional problems associated with that. Those problems are not only psycho-sexual, but on a wider spectrum this whole business of finding a woman/man, failthfulness, marriage and co-habitation, which is completely unnatural, causes perpetual mental conflict. The vast majority of relationships are in fact based on selfishness, placating each other in order to fulfil each others needs. When one side becomes is unbalanced, the relationship comes to its inevitable end. "Love" quickly turns to animosity when somebody isn't getting what they want. Finding a combination that works is more down to luck than anything - a peculiar meeting of minds, where an indefinite number of psychological idiosyncrasies combine to create the ideal relationship. Still unnatural, but seems to work on a mutually-dependent basis. It's extremely rare, and impossible to predict from the outset, which is why people embarking on a relationship should approach it from a completely different mindset to the current one. |
