youve already made the mistake of thinking anyone cares so
maybe you need to alter that to 0/5

you sound detached. dont worry it usually passes. but it
does have its plus points.

there's no absolute reality so it's pointless to measure

i like Schopenhauer though:

life is but “a useless disturbing episode in the blissful
repose of nothingness.”

lol hi john, hope yr well :)

how about "a fruitless pursuit of trying to make the
objective subjective"

im alright pete, recovering from an infected ear which has
left me half deaf. that should pass eventually :)

i agree. i guess the very notion of reality is subjective,
so to talk about life in terms of reality is to attempt to
objectivity a subjective concept.

ive washed my hands of the whole affair .. we wouldnt worry
about such things if someone else hadnt put the buzzword out
there.

so essentially you're giving yourself a 1/5 rating. well
done. perhaps you should try to put some effort into getting
the 5/5 rating? i dunno. sounds rhetorical doesn't it?

I find reality is what you make of it.. Most of what us
humans use/do on a day is created by ourselves.
We're slaves to our creations actually.
I dunno if a more basic natural life suits us better, but I
do know that I can also create a good world in my head
around entertainment and interaction.

I think the key is finding happiness in what you have,
simple things.
If you think too big you might get disappointed, not that
ambition is bad, but it kinda is if you always chase a goal
and never appreciate the present.

If you have people around you that you like/love, interests
and time to maintain those interests and steady economy,
then I think you have a lot going for you to make a good
life.

Man that ended up long

money can quickly change living enviroment and people around
you, but not your present knowledge.

knowledge is key to happiness.

depends what kind of knowledge you mean.
knowing a bunch of history facts isnt going to make your
life better unless you also have the knowledge of how to
make it better.
so what you actually need is meta-knowledge about your
knowledge

or maybe all i type is crap

The Tao will show is the way

Empty your mind.
Be perfectly serene.

The ten thousand things arise together;
in their arising is their return.
Now they flower,
and flowering
Sink down,
returning to the root.

The return to the root is peace.

Peace: to accept what must be,
to know what endures.

In that knowledge is wisdom
without it, disaster.

To know what endures
opens your mind,
Which lets you be impartial,
which makes you sovereign,
Which makes you omnipotent.

And then you follow the Tao,
the way that endures forever,
So when your body dies,
there is nothing to fear.

this is teaching us to meditate, allow yourself to stop
thinking, just listen to the sounds outside... nearby, then
listen to the far away sounds, they will become louder. keep
focused on those sounds, let go of your thoughts, then let
your thoughts come and go, do not control it. you will
experience pure consciousness and this is how you free
yourself from the complexity of your life and problems

haha actually I'm only just starting to get into meditation,
i don't really know much, just from reading stuff. maybe it
works man, try going to a quiet park, and lay down. try to
listen to all the sounds, like birds, machines, voices,
dogs barking, planes flying past etc and see if you can
free your mind from intrusive thoughts. it's so hard to do
this, takes years of practice. but i think it's worth
looking into if you're a troubled young man

meditation is good stuff. Requires discipline, and again
knowledge.

Yes you need sort knowledge, filter knowledge, create learn
"meta-knowledge" phylosophy about knowledge.

For example if you know that there is no meening in your
life it changes everything, and makes you less responsible
for knowlage pursuit about what you are and what is your
purpose in life.

reality is a bit poo when you really want it to be like the

and cry. but life is fine really :)

Why do most cars have speedometers that go up to at least
130 when you legally can't go that fast on any road?
