'Dream it out', it will pass. Probably your unconscious is processing stuff you weren't aware of while smoking. THC robs one of one's dreams, guess they're returning in full force now.
Give it some time.

Ruuuckspook is onto something, subconscious is unearthing worries that lurked just beyond every hit.
What are the dreams about?

yea, it's either unprocessed psychological stuff, or else simply a sign of your psychological dependency on the drug so that the mind has no other way of handling stress. But you'll have to develop other strategies, or just wait it out.

Any time I take breaks from weed, this happens to me. My dreams become extremely vivid and usually very violent. It's one of the reasons I have trouble cutting back. I dread not being in control of my sleep and when I stop smoking, I lose that control.

i think it's because your sleep is not as deep as while your brain is soaked in thc. do you ever have/remember dreams at all while smoking? i think in the days after stopping smoking (regularly like evry night) you sleep lighter for a few days, and you wake up more often, and therefore remember what you just dreamt, regardless of wether it's a nightmare or a "normal" dream, if such a dream exists at all.

I stopped joints because I couldn't dream anymore ! So you will se they come back pretty quick after that and then it depends on your state of mind if they're good or bad, nothing to do with the dope man !

your dreams are gruesome because the world is gruesome. the most popular strategy is to repress the gruesomeness. the more difficult but far more rewarding strategy is to cultivate high indifference, in which you care but do not reflexively react to or seek out gruesomeness.
while weed does suppress dreaming, you've been doing more than suppressing your dreams while you've been smoking everyday. and now you have unpleasant dreams. i suspect you may be generating the dreams to avoid in your waking life what you avoided by smoking weed every day. the dreams are unpleasant, i'm sure, but are more a distraction than a projection of your true problems (based on your description of your dreams).
ask yourself why you chose to smoke every day for 3-4 years. i'm sure you enjoyed yourself mostly. ask yourself why you stopped smoking. you perceive the present conflict; you may also resolve this conflict.

your dream was about destroying things you love because you fear that you're not worthy of them. the details heighten the pain. but you are the cat as well as the biter. you are the crunching sounds.
your frustration and insecurities manifest as acts of destruction, by yourself or by others.
what you really want to destroy are your illusions, obstacles, barricades. call on the destroyer.
then again, maybe i've been smoking too much weed.

Hmmm, I find those vivid dreams interresting and about the only cool aspect of running out of smoke. I'm there now and I had a very vivid dream last night about this woman with a third eye... Anyone have any idea what that dream could possibly mean? The woman in the dream is my neighbour, which I don't know. We never speak and only exchange politeness if it's absolutely unavoidable, if we bump into each other that is. She appeared in the dream with a third eye, placed between the other two.
I even like unpleasant dreams, for they are only dreams and can do me no harm. I'm fascinated by the insights they offer me. I also find that the longer I sleep the more I remember from my dreams and the more vivid they become.

woah, your pretty good at this aren't you. a long while ago now i had a dream similar to ampi's featuring my dearly loved dog, no biting but pain inflicted and i would never harm an animal intentionally. your description was befitting

you mentioning waking up in a cold sweat makes me think that its just withdrawal from the thc i guess. I'm sure if you just wait a few weeks more it will calm down again. Smoking weed does crazy stuff to your brain, so coming off it will take a bit of t ime for it to get back to normal.

nice. how do you explain dreams?..do you use books wich explain dreams? I started to do that too after a weed break and learned a lot about myself and my subcunsiousness. I started studying books from CG Jung (still doing that btw because he has written a lot) and now i can explain dreams mostly by myself..I suggest everybody who wants to learn more about himself and his subconsiousness to start explaining their dreams. For me the problem is I still love weed so the journey/ search to myself by explaining my dreams stops every now and then. But it's a choice i make twice a month now instead of smoking weed every day. I've smoked weed for 20 years every day and got the feeling i missed great parts of my life in relation to my dreams..dreams are now a big part of my life and i've become a bigger person because of it.

there are fundamental conflicts in most people, and they tend to manifest repeatedly and somewhat predictably. egoic projections, inflations, deflations. if you learn about the mechanics, desires and fears that fuel dream imagery, you get more insight into potential meanings.
i haven't really studied analysis of dreams specifically, and i often find it much more difficult to understand my own dreams (barring the obvious ones).
