would never get one. yes it's a pretty good design statement, but that voice-over and the controls thing appear a bit crappy to use imo. the case is probably made from spare aluminium chunks off mabook casings..? |

yeah, new shuffle is creativity gone the wrong way. innovation for the sake of innovation, not for its usefulness. but hey, apple wins some and loses some. not every new product can be as cool as their new macbooks or the iphone. this one goes into the tolerable crap department. it looks good and it puts the spare aluminum chunks to 'good' use, or rather to use. |

i don't understand why people are bitching about it so much. apple make some shit stuff yeah, but if you don't like it don't buy it. i doubt anyone here will buy one anyway, you're hardly the core demographic. |

The core demographic for the new Shuffle are racists. Black people actually do eat and love fried chicken but I will note that never in my life have I seen a black person consume a watermelon, tap dance or sit on a porch. |

The only thing that irritates me is that the voice is different depending on the OS synced from. Yeah, i think it's a bit tongue in cheek of apple to do so. Of course apple historically has put a lot of effort into text to speech systems and has some pretty good voices built into their os, which is a bit better than the windows equivalent as far as i know. i'm not sure they have standard text to speech applications in windows actually. But the way apple presented it, like "o and if your on a windows machine you've got this crappy text to speech voice to listen to" followed with a big wink/smile. Again they're just poking fun with windows. If that's a by-product of some practical problems (like windows actually not having a built-in voice to make use of, or making it near impossible for developers to make use of better tts systems) i don't know. |
