I was at 192kbps mp3, but had to bump down to 160 due to skipping in my stream ripper. I am using Audio Hijack Pro, with a Mono signal Enhancer and Compressor. |

why are you recording at a higher bitrate than the broadcast? exactly... well except that if he is recompressing the stream , rather then dumping the stream like we are, then if he recompresses 96kbps at 96kbps it will suck a little. but honestly if he recompresses the stream to ANY mp3 bitrate it will suck a little. honesly the only good way to do it is with something that does what were doing. |

No, I am capturing the stream at 192kbps, but sidechained the signal through a monosignal mastering enhancer vst plugin and a compressor vst plugin to boost the lows in order to match the tingyness of the stream. Sounds sweet on my end. Full as fuck with little distortion. |

Oh dear. No wonder you're experienceing dropouts. Why not just capture the stream. Then you can apple any effects later (and still keep the original broadcast in it's unfuntered form) |

but the fact remains that you cant record more data then there is to begin with. in my opinion, recording the stream exactly as it is is ideal. one could always filter it afterwards to achieve the exact same effect. |
