THAT is some scary business!!!!

who/what is dat......does the all white hurt your eyes after
a while?

*thanks for sharing*

That guy is the artist Matthew Barney... the guy that has
whipped up a major storm in the art community with his
series of 5 Cremaster movies/sculptures/exibits at the
Guggenhiem in NYC. I am not much of an art critic, and I
have not seen them, as they are notoriously hard to get hold
of... but I love his imagery...it is like baroque surreal,
if there is anything such as that. For more info on the
cremaster series of movies...go here.

PS. Flash tag. Avoid, if you are on dial-up.

offline alnuit on 2003-05-03 14:12 [#00682785]
Points: 1113 Status: Lurker

Also...the particular image is from Cremaster 4. And yes,
quite a few people have asked me if the white does not hurt
my eye...and I tell them all, not. My desktop is usually
covered up with all the windows that I am...so...don't see
it much...and even if I did...it don't hurt me much.

*the pleasure is all mine*

it looks like a photograph, but its actually a painting by
Caspar David Friedrich called 'Cloister Cemetary in the
Snow' in the 1800's..i used to do art history, thats how i
know of it..check out Bosch's stuff aswell if you like
Friedrich.
