It was fairly general and focussed on principles/philosophy of remixing as much as the technicalities of how to do it, it discussed the whole spectrum of remixing from Ae style "can't recognise the source material" through to late 90s dance style "the original with a breakbeat over the top" remixes. It covered the copyright issues involved in remixing, industry views on remixing, etc. |

what ive basically done with yours (although not with all of the remixes) is take tones from your track and turn them into melodies. ive taken a one note here and there and then looped it so its a constant tone. using this constant tone that single note can now become an entire melody. ive done this a couple of times with lower end and higher end notes so ive got bass noises and such like and then i just twiddle around add some effects to fatten up or tone down the sound (or maybe make it a bit wobbly) and make a melody. if there are useable drum hits in the track ill rob them and use them in the beat but if not i make my own. a lot of these remixes have rather simple beats as they've really been exercises in tonal creation and adjustment. i hope this makes an ounce of sense. ive got a stonking head cold and cant really see the screen... also pigster yes ill definately remix for you. ill do OKs first then yours :) |
