On 8/6/08, earthleakage correctly stated that track 13 is NOT 'Black' by Robert O'Dell/Pop Device. 5 years later I still don't know...and I have the entire Rephlex discography. Help........./ |

The more I listen to it, it sounds like it could be one of those thousands of unreleased RDJ tracks. I've only just noticed how fucking good it is (Robert O'Dell 'Black' it certainly ain't), and the completist in me is demanding I know what it is, and furthermore, to own a good quality version of it... This is a decade-long + mystery...and together we can get to the bottom of it...!! |

disappointed, you guys are experts no?, listen to the bass 303'y notes, in a slower pattern than original, same pitches tho, rememeber rephlex reissued the early 808 state albums, recognize it now? the remix of this old classic is from an unreleased rephlex 808 remixes ep not listed on discogs by the way, this track in particular is gerald's remix. |

Can't find said bassline in any of the 808 stuff. Furthermore, it sounds way too good for anything an 808 State member could cook up. It also doesn't sound old enough to be that ambiguous IG-88 non-release The mystery continues...? |

Oh my!! I do apologize Mr. diamondtron! The bassline is indeed there, clear as day! My research was abysmal. My sincerest apologies to Gerald. I guess in a way, my comment was a backhanded compliment. So, you're 100% sure the remix in question is unreleased? Thats a shame cos the obsessive collector in me now needs to own a good quality version of the track, and I fear that may never happen. If I may ask, how do you know so much sir? |

I had a dream about 808 State last night, and this is absolutely true, I had a re-release of Quadrastate and the label had a photo of Graham Massey and when you spun the disc the image changed and he mouthed an 0800 number ... but I don't know what you'd get if you rang it as I couldn't work out the numbers. Apart from 0800. |

massey and price also did remixes from newbuild that never got released. thanks for the info about it being geralds dr lowfruit remix! do you know what the other 2 (?) remixes were? listening to prebuild, sounds much better than i remember it, thou 2 tracks are from an old 12" i already had, 2 other tracks are demos of newbuild tracks, and 2 others i'm pretty sure are from a live concert they did. |

The thing that started this is that I was making a data CD for the car of all the tunes from the radio show (it...like...totes changed my life and ting) and noticed there was a wild discrepancy in the track list that I had took as gospel for so long. I haven't slept since the debacle, but now you have posted that mp3, I can feel my eye-lids get heavier as I listen to it on repeat (I've actually gone from not noticing the track much into absolutely loving it) goodnight everyone xxx (ps sorry for being such a fanboy alleged-Grant) |
