MONOLAKE (an open letter to music journalists)

As an aside, if I was a journo reviewing this, I'd put
something along the lines of the following in my review:

"...in closing, the music sounds a bit contrived and
unoriginal. Not bad exactly, but not very good
either. It certainly isn't good enough to warrant the recent
'toys out of the pram' letter that Robert Henke recently
penned. It all smacks a bit of Ulrich Schnauss. Now, thanks
to peer to peer, we've reached a moderate level of fame, we
don't want people to share our material. Sorry boys, p2p
doesn't work like that and it cuts both ways."

What if the CD was stolen from the reviewer? What if the
reviewer left it on the desk at work and the work experience
boy picked it up? Is it realistic to expect the reviewer to
keep it on his person at all times and defend it with his
life?

DAMN those work experience boys!

if only as a society we'd acknowledge the work they're doing
and actually pay them something..
