Yes and yes.
there's Irish, our national language, spoken only by a few thousand unfortunately.. it has 3 main dialects in Ireland, and it is part of the family of Gaelic languages (there's also manx, scots gaelic, cornish, and umm a few others..)
as for what most people speak here, it's certainly its own dialect of english, known as hiberno-english. That's a really fantastic wikipedia page i just linked to - the "grammar" and "turns of phrase" sections are very interesting in my opinion.
so i guess my own answer of "british english" was incorrect..

icelandic (Ãslenska).
I've always wanted to learn Irish. It sounds interesting, but I think it's sad what has happened to it's stature in Ireland. Icelandic has some names and words of Irish origin and vice versa.
