Its perfectly fine for heads to not enjoy my music. Infact,i would feel a little strange if everyone enjoyed everything i did. I'm sure it would feel awesome for abit, but it would just turn out to be kind of strange. So if you dont like it,thats fine. Ive noticed some producers on message boards get all wound up over people disliking there material. I suppose starting off promoting on msgboards, its just something you learn to deal with.
I appreciate the comments on the track. Glad some people could get into it. I never stated that my music,or this album, was going to breakground.. its just music i enjoy producing, and various other people enjoy as well. thats it.
PS
Lead singer from Deicide used to live next to me :-|

Oh, the guy with the cross burned into his forehead? I bet he's not so happy about that little life changing decision any more. I'm still wondering when he'll be Born Again and go on the preachin' circuit. There's lots more money in Christianity than Satanism these days...

I remember he was living next to me because it was around the time Deicide went bankrupt, and he was living with his brother. I remember fondly of him mowing the lawn. The odd thing was,the house he used to live in right next to a Methodist Church,no shit.

Well good, I figured either that or the drugs were to blame, and drugs have a bad enough name already.

Yeah he lives in Florida now,i presume with his wife and son,who by the way is named DAMIEN. so lame. I also remember his brother (who worked as a roady for Deicide) giving me a box of old deicide stuff, like tshirts press photos etc. And some old shit of Glens that was pre-Deicide. He was originally in bands in the Buffalo NY/Niagara Falls area i think. But i cant be certain.
Anyhow,he/they suck. I wore a Deicide tshirt once(the one with Jesus flayed on the front) and i felt like an idiot. Then i sold the box of Deicide stuff to this guy i know for $100.
that is the Story of Wisp & Deicide.

Also, could someone please explain what Honor Beat actually means? Is it like honors chemistry? Is it like the honor system for sampling, like take a penny, leave a penny?

i think it is an allusion to the classical "rule of thumb" and a commentary on the struggle of gay marriage rights in an increasingly neoconservative landscape.

lol.
initially,it was going to be Nobel Beats,or Honrable Beats. But Honor Beats looked better, and i think sounds better. Also, its a reference to the native american Honor Beat. Im not native american, but the beats are used in native drumming to honor battle. Its used as an accent beat,i think in the chorus of there songs used in Pow-Wows. That was the clincher for the title. Kind of a happy accident, but it made me choose the title over the others.

I think there is a certain charm to the facelessness of IDM, so when someone is right there telling you the meaning of the phrase 'honor beats' it feels funny but its not really relevant to anything. I like jungle breaks and nice thick synth melodies and I like wisps music, I dont think about it much further than that. And I think Nrthndr might be my favourite bit of wispage actually

Naw fuck that. How many times did Mille Plateaux release an album with a CD cover that was white with a slightly darker white rectangle on it, and titles like "paper" and "the"? Around 2004/05 I started finding lots of those in the used bins.
I don't mean that music should have as much semantic content or meaning as a novel... it should be more like a poem, with the titles, the music and the album cover hinting at things and letting you fill in the rest. Tim Hecker does that total package thing super well even though you might call his stuff minimal ambient. But god, spare us the bland glass of milk minimalism please. Now there's something that's been done to death.
(the other end of the spectrum is just as bad, the "lol I'm gonna be wacky" nonsense complexity bad attempts at humor or something)

i agree with all of that.
then again, there's the angle you could take as an artist... titles are kind of a pain in the ass a lot of times - i'd rather not worry about them at all most of the time... forcing something just for the sake of having a title is where the trouble lies, imo. "untitled" would be better than something trite or "clever".
