skinnier ? what do you mean by that ? is it about those
analog artifacts ?

No. It just doesn't sound as fat. The nord doesn't replicate
the artifacts, that I have noticed. Its just a lot wider and
deeper sounding than most VA.

So the discodsp discovery is skinnier.

i'm curious if i could handle "fatness" by pushing this soft
synth through a tube-compressor.

actually i'm curious if ANY softsynth will sound a bit more
analog after tube-threatment

Yeah. That would do it. Even just recording it to tape would
give it some much needed warmth.

i have a g2 as well and i agree save up for one or one of
the higher end lead models unless you have found a good nord
1 rack used

it is worth it for the 2 and even the 3

regardless of which model you get you wont be disappointed
as taxi said
theyre all high quality products with great sound and class

good luck!

Yes, some hip hop producer (EG Mr. De) do that. Send a synth
line out from PC soundcard, through a tube amp and back into
the PC where it's recorded and the new "tubed" version is
put into the track.

It doesn't obviously doesn't give that elasticity that
analogue basses tend to have, but it should warm the sound a
bit.

so is a nord lead 2x good for using as a midi synth as well?
and can you put enough samples on it?

also: what's added value of the x compared to the nord lead
2?

i mean put samples on it for when you want to use it as a
piano for instance, or a drumkit
