haha very funny stuff

i imagine duppy running past a newsagent and just running
out with shite loads of q's

It amuses me alot when they dont get drukqs and write for a
magazine. The druqks special 2046 is the only q issue i
would buy.

drukqs is a "dead-end" cause there is no more music ideas to
make after that album

from Uncut:

" AFX
CHOSEN LORDS
'richard james handpicks the best of a years worth of
classic Aphex acid'

In early 2005, Richard D James began pumping out 11 limited
edition Analord12ins on his own label, plus a leather binder
to collect the set in. Aphex fans couldn't decide whether
this was a triumphant return to his roots in gnarly post
acid-house digi-jack, or a blatant scam for cash. On Chosen
Lords, Aphex cherrypicks his favourites for the cd market.
Without the scuffed overload of his teenage releases, it's
obvious that these are newly minted (rather than old tapes,
as some suspected), abounding in untreated drum machine
presets that can send him, as on "PWSteal.Ldpinch.D",
veering towards the cheeseboard. But there's some classic
Aphex bussiness, too: the bubbling 303 gumpot of "Reunion
2", the tumbledryer reverb of "Klopjob", and the bends and
slurs of "Batine Acid" and "Boxing Day", where melodic
motifs clash out of tune, like two different tracks running
in seperate bubble universes, briefly touching.
by Rob Young"

It sounds like he was smashed when he wrote that review.

How exactly is "AFX" vowel-less? Journos are such wankers...

The BBC seem to have the CD in yet another case style, and it's on the mighty Rehlex label.

Why? I can't be bothered to do any artwork."

rdj

"Q: Were the Analord tracks recorded in the bank?
RDJ: "Yes. Like any place it puts you in a certain frame of
mind. I record in the vaults a lot and other parts of the
building have been wired up for use as echo chambers." "

he is so obviously pulling it.

It wasn't recorded ON analogue equipment, surely. How the
fuck did he get those reversed bits.
"Hobbies of ye olde Aphex" Interview:
"Well, I've given up all the hacking and mobile scanning,
and driving around in military vehicles, and now I enjoy
tape splicing".
Somehow, no.

It recorded USING analogue equipment, twatheads!

Are you saying you can't play tape backwards?

thanks for sharing that : )

i have to disagree with "Drukqs, was a deliberate attempt
to allienate both curious newcomers (thanks to its
impenetrable mesh of drum n' bass breaks) and loyal fans
(who had heard him do much the same before, only
better)"
. i discovered Aphex Twin with drukQs, and i
really think it has its own style (even if it's too "dense"
and a bit overlong for me now).

(and yes, that "vowel-less AFX noun" is a really stupid
mistake.)

No, it wasn't. I've got a magazine article that admitted
that parts of the mastering/post production were done on a
computer.

nor should it be attempted

No, I'm just saying why would Aphex spend ages cutting up
tiny little pieces of tape while cutting his fingers off to
make a few backwards kick drums when he could do it with a
laptop in seconds?

Analord was recorded from the synths onto laptop live,
wasn't it?
