I'm on the fence about this one... I used to prefer the Zen but while in NYC last week I was borrowing my friend's ipod the entire week and I liked the touch-wheel interface a lot. so I guess put me down for a "?" |

Two of my friends have the zen and I don't like the way you search through your music, it's annoying. Although my ipod is broken because I've over charged it and disconnected it when I weren't supposed to, I still pick ipod. |

whilst the capacity on both might be smaller i've switched back to cd and tape. as far as i'm concerned (though i can only really speak for ipods, but have heard horror stories about other makes) mp3 players can stick it up their arse. unrealiable pieces of shit. |

I have neither of these things, but to say the iPod is cool is madness. anything that is as actively being sold on its supposed hipness as the iPod is, can't be any further away from actually being hip. calling the iPod hip is calling the Black Eyed Peas hip. |

um, I can't speak for your country, but in the U.S. the Black Eyed Peas are considered hip... and so is the iPod. Most of the people I know who own an iPod bought it because it is more trendy to own one of those than any other brand. Everyone I know who bought a Zen bought one because it was comparable to the iPod for less money. |

fuck ipods i hate them and all the losers walking around, ipod strapped to belt, white earbuds in ears, struttin' down the street, probably imagining that they are in a two tone ipod commercial while listening to their shitty top ten radio hits at 128kbps cbr. i have had a iriver solid state for a while, which is not really comparable to the two HD players in the running here, but it rocks oggs and the battery life is longer and it is nice and small- the navigation system is usable with my hand in my pocket- without seeing the screen, ive never liked the ipod wheel. ive only had limited use of the zen, but considering i would not be caught dead with an ipod, and my impressions of the zen are pretty good: +1 ZEN |

by the way, the one i have is the ifp-799 1GB ive had it for ~2 years, and before that i had a minidisc player. i recomend the iriver, but get the moded UMS firmware. |

Its a bit stupid if you dont like ipods for the SOLE reason that people you dislike use them... Mine is in a lame case and its dirty and weathered. So fuck it looking cool. I reckon the menus and controls are the best and most efficient. 3rd generation is the best, fuck the photo/colour/video shit!!!! |

i have a 3g. it's pretty good if you get some decent earphones (the apple ones are shit) and my battery died after a year, but i got a replacement one off ebay for about a fiver and it's better than the original. 20gb is ideal, i like the navigation, don't care about ogg support, that's good enough for me. |
