I know this is a very 'obvious' list and some of the stuff
is not from 2005, but this year I have not discovered any
lesser known albums worthy of the top 10.

1. Untilted
2. Rossz
3. Meathole
4. Analord
5. Modus Operandi
6. Higgins
7. Chocolate Wheelchair
8. Plastikman Sheet One

10. Other People Place - LOTLC

Others:
Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
Claro
Drexciya - Neptunes Lair, The Quest
Mira C - One on One
Phonem - Hyrdo Electric, Ilisu
Plastikman - Artifacts, Consumed, Musik

You're gonna hate me for this:
AFX-Hangable Auto Bulb Re-Release
Robert Plant-Mighty Rearranger (2004?)
Goldfrapp-Supernature
MIA-Arular (but I think this was 2004)
AFX-Analord 8-10 (well, they fit on an 80 minute CD)
Mr Oizo-Moustache (but I haven't actually bought it yet)
Jackson-Smash (but I haven't bought it yet)
Bloc Party-Silent Alarm (now this really is a great album)
Franz Ferdinand-You Could Have It So Much Better (sorry)
Les Rhythmes Digitales-Darkdancer Re-Release (great album)

in no particular order.....

animal collective - feels
mew - and the glass handed kites
deerhoof - green cosmos ep
cassetteboy - dead horse
rotten sound - murderworks
mf doom - food (was that this year or last, cant remember?)
mia - arular
sage francis - a healthy distrust
afx - hab re-isuue
sinner dc - arkle parkle avenue

definetely not in my top ten/
the campfire headphase. its good, but aint that great
really.
sufjan stevens - illinoise. also, its good, but nowhere near
on the same level as the michigan album or seven swans.
