You know when Shelley Duvall finds all of Jack Nicholson's
novel is the same thing written over and over again in The
Shining? I felt a bit like that on arriving at your
Livejournal.com site. I don't mean that in a bad way, just,
you know.

Sorry, I sound like a really sour bastard lately, again.
I've got domestic problems. Tragedy, forgive me, you're
smashing.

Well, r40f, since you've asked, blood is composed of four
major components: plasma, red blood cells, white blood
cells, and platelets.

Most of your blood (about 55%) is plasma and about 90% of
plasma is water. Plasma also contains vitamins, minerals,
nutrients and waste products. In your blood stream plasma
acts as the mode of transportation for your blood cells.

Red blood cells, which are shaped like slightly
indented, flattened disks, make up about 45% of blood. These
cells are very flexible, allowing them to squeeze into the
tiniest places to deliver oxygen. Red cells contain the
protein hemoglobin, which gives blood its red color and
allows them to carry oxygen.

White blood cells only make up about 1% of blood
volume, but they are the body’s main line of defense
against infection. White blood cells identify and attack an
invading organism, and they produce the antibodies that
attack specific infections. The three types of white blood
cells have specific missions in the body’s defense.

Platelets (the small, plate-shaped cells in the blood)
start the formation of a clot (coagulate) when a vessel is
broken. They stick together at the site of the injury and
react with fibrin in the plasma to form a clot. Although
platelets alone can plug small blood vessel leaks and
temporarily stop or slow bleeding, the action of clotting
factors is needed to produce a strong, stable clot. Clotting
factors are special proteins in the blood that respond to
chemicals sent out by platelets.

"i've noticed that nine inch nails depresses me to the
point of physical illness but i find trent reznor god-like."
Seriously, you might think it's rad and that putting stuff
like this up now, on the GLOBAL INTERNET, but believe me, in
2, 3 years you'll be going "Nooooo noooooooo
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!". I am collecting EACH and EVERY blog on
the net, just to blackmail the authors, or Blogmail them, as
I've termed it, in the future when they're all senior sales
staff or Account Managers or what not.
