One of my best friends says pellow and it bugs the hell out
of me everytime. I think he tries to say it as many times
as possible in a day.

well to be honest with you pachi, when i think of Canada,
the only thing I dislike that comes to mind is that guy
REFLEX. i say this due to the bullshit he has produced on
this messageboard, especially in the past, he's not as bad
as he used to be. but other than that, Canada seems like a
pretty fucking cool place.

I have nothing against the U.S., but sometimes their
ignorance (not everyones, but some peoples) gets on my
nerves... like come on, there is more to the world then what
is inside your borders... a teacher of mine once told me
that he was in the states one time, and in the schools all
they had were maps of the U.S.... like is that true? We
always had a map of Canada, but also a map of the world, and
probably other maps of Europe and shit...

That must have been a pretty poorly funded school... every
one I've ever been in has a world map also, at least

I think that there is just as much ignorance in Canada about
the U.S. as in the U.S. about Canada.

The only sports information I get is when I'm riding the
train into school and my discman batteries die, forcing me
to listen to peoples lame comversations. According to the
fatass sitting behind me today the mens team sucks.

This Olympic Hockey has salvaged the whole shitty Olympics!
AWESOME hockey! The men are doing fine, expect a Canada/US
final on Sunday.

They presented Sweden with the bronze medals... the women's
team. Swedes are beautiful!!!! Hubba hubba!

yes everyone IS pretty ignorant.. but c'mon, u cant say
canada is as ignorant about america as they are of us...
keep in mind that a HUGE portion of our mass media is
american.
(especially TV: the most influential medium)
we are completely immersed in american news, culture and
history and shit..

theres this show one CBC (canadian station) where they go
down to some american town and interview people on current
events in canada.. they ask questions like: "should king
mackensie of canada meet with the president to discuss a
peace accord"? or something like taht and they are
completely taken by it.. trying to sound smart they're like:
"oh yeah, for sure it would welp tehir economy"

i was talking to this girl from arkansas (i think) on the
internet a while ago.. i told her i lived in toronto.
she SERIOUSLY asked: "is that in the states?"
hahah.. lol

No Funkmaster, I believe that is likely something your
teacher fabricated out of his indulgance in the stereotypes.
At a time, maybe, or a specially low end school, but no. I
definitely think that certain cultures may be more ignorant
than others when it comes to certain topics, but it all
balances out. We all see the ignorances of others, but they
see our too.

And it's probably important to step back from time to time
to assess ourselves, our biases and denials and such.

It looks as if at the thought of your schools being called
cheap or lame or what ever you came back making fun of
funikmasters schools. That wasnt necessary at all. U could
have simply said "Thats not right, we have all kinds of
maps"
