ahaa! I'll have to start reading threads soon...
hahah!

you wouldn't have a recording of the real players performing
it, then?

(you should learn how to play the upright bass so that an
upright bass-player would be available! those basses only
cost, like, 20000 kroner for a really, really cheap one!
hahaha!)

all musical theories like this are as baseless and useless
as eugenics
learning or caring about them amounts to understanding
nothing more than historical trivia

they performed it in class, but I dont have a recording. It
was ok... the sight reading was hard for the piano player,
since theres a lot of leaps across the keyboard... but over
all it was pretty good. :)

jivver.... passwords? wha?

but you may repeat notes after themselves?

yeah, you can repeat the same note, or you can go backwards
in the sequence, so like if the sequence is D A B C

you could go D A B A B A B C

etc

Honestly, it didn't do anything for me. It was kind of....
stubborn? and sounded forced, which could easily be
explained by your doing it for a course.

This sounds like an interesting compositional technique. I
will try this out.

Impressively, this is one of the only times I have ever seen
a thread not sink to the 'monkey anus' quality of discussion
standard around here. Practically every response was on
topic, and it was about music (which is what this site is
supposed to be discussing, the only posts that seem to last
are people bitching about who has been banned lately).

I have a serial piece I wrote for college in the mid-1990s,
on my Sibelius page, called The Stream. It's an interesting
exercise. I don't believe in Loose Serial music - it is
against its very purpose.
