see, what bothers me is that people who think so highly of autechre say aphex twin is childish and boring, while autechre are to be taken seriously. people have different taste but how can you say one is serious and advanced and the other boring and childish? (not that you said it but i hear that a lot from the big ae fans..). |

i hear this too, as far as i am concerned, you could take aphex twin out of what i said and inject ae - its the music not the artist - but i get what youre saying - for me its all about tastes - we all have different tastes and that is a very good thing. |

the way aphex can weave humor into his music, and still keep them complex and not have them become novelty is probably one of the main reasons i think he's so dope. |

This thread hasn't been totally pointless as we have established some good points. It's just I don't like it how some people don't say what they think in order to be elitist. I was basing my statement on what has been going on the past week. People were saying one thing but the board (as a community) was showing me another. |
