LFO are pioneers of electonic music. they brought the detroit and chicago sound to britain but in their own style. if it wasnt for them we would have no "IDM". thank fuck for some decent fucking electronica a la frequencies et advance we are hearing thousands of sub-desperados despearately trying to find their own niche in todays spasmoid desperado "average" bedroom artists. but as the saying goes, give 1000 monkeys 1000 typewriters and eventually you will find a gem. and for that we have LFO to thank.
LFO sold 120,000 copies of their debut single, "LFO", which, in comparison to other popular records is an incredible achievement. thank warp for giving them a full length album, which at the time was unheard of with regards an electronic band. and now 15 years on, is the norm.

oh my...
where the fuck were you lot in 1990? i was in a shop shelling my student loan on these weird purple sleeved records supporting an independant record label. i hope you can appreciate WARP hasn't built itself on hype but on quality, unlike other bullshit record labels. support the music you like, and buy it.

Ummmm. Who would you say the father of "idm" is? Its not afx, or autechre. The closest one to fit the title is mark bell, and LFO. You listen to frequencies, and sure it sounds a bit dated, but its amazing considering that all that stuff is over 15 years old. Its still the album that made warp as large (and accessible) as it is today, making it more possible for this neat ellectronic music to get to our ears. The best selling record for warp up to four years ago (and I am sure it hasn't really changed) was frequencies, and there are at least 6 killer songs on that album.
Sheath was a dissapointment. But it still has a couple good songs.

i really like LFO: dload "intro / lfo" from frequencies, easily one of the ten best trk from the whole warp catalogue & get frequencies, a great record.
dload "them" from advance (my fav lfo album) & get "advance", its really good.
dload "blown" from the last one, the only one i'm not crazy about.
for lots of older folks frequencies is a top & classic album.

I was very late to discover lfo and now are one of my favourite names in music
I just have frequencies, advance, seath and the freak single
all are really good
frequencies is the masterpiece, the album that stands out as a classic now
advance had the hard time of coming after frecuencies, but to be honest is a great album, but not a classic like the previous one... still some classic tunes in it... I like this one very much
seath, without the preasure, lfo (now only mark bell) did a great eclectic album... its nice and it changes mood through the album... fresh for what had been released in 2003, not slave of all the glitchy laberinth, really pure music
the single freak is gorgeous in its three cuts

Millionaire Dogs is quality on a stick.
I like LFO - LFO (the album), reminds me of listening to it in my brother's room as a kid.
Freak is fairly "normal" and danceable, but a great tune.
