Completely missed the point of the book but entertaining none the less. I echo pantys issues with people being super tough when they're not supposed to be. I look forward to the extended directors cut which will hopefully humanise the story with the addition the at least a few of the extra 'normal' characters so that the crappy new ending has at least a little emotional impact. Why remove Manhattan's 'nothing ever changes' line to Veidt? One of the best bits of the book!
Another problem I have is the addition of crap at the expense of good stuff. Why add a ludicrous, campy sex scene which was covered by a few panels in the comic? I understand the films got to make money but adding sub par action sections so you have something to put in the trailer was a crap decision.
No one ever tries to recreate Dr. Manhattan in the book due to it being a one in millions accident with almost no chance of being repeatable. Bubastis (the lynx thing) is the results of ozymandias experiments in with genetics, something which plays a large part in the comics ending but is completely absent in the film, making the cat a retarded addition.
Overall I enjoyed myself, it has flashes of brilliance (Doc Manhattans origin was fucking superb) and would probably loved it if I hadn't read the comics far too many times beforehand - 6/10

I just saw it... got a little to LIFE BOAT ish. Was wondering if that was in the comic . Life boat meaning "If a doctor, a dentist a homeless person are on a boat, and there is only food for 2 people, who do you throw off ?". Was this a key thing in the comic or did the movie accent it needlessly ?
