on a side note I find the title to this thread quite ironic

no, but it has never extended to "undesirable opinions" on
the sites i've posted/read.

everybody just finds it normal that some rules protect
ethnic/religious groups. humans are so easily driven to hate
there has to be rules that ensure the ground for xenophobia
is as small as possible. racist talk can hurt.

you cannot ban opinions anyway, but you can make them
marginal.

Still, you can't go telling someone else on THEIR
messageboard what they can and can not say. They didn't
make you go there and read it.

have you ever read that tolerant opinions would not be
tolerated on a message board? it's always racism that is
mentionned, sometimes along with sexist and homophobic.

woops, misread you post.

because it's public it has to be regulated. it's not a
discussion between people @ home.

Have some personal responsibility. Nobody made you go to
that website. They didn't advertise it to you. No. Just
no.

the dumbest thing you can do, is supress people who think
like this.

you will drive the Evil Racists underground, they will
disappear from sight and then you really have NO idea what
is going on.

that is, until they come out and do something stupidly
violent.

the only thing you can do is let people say what they want
and try to open up a discussion. surpressing will only
create more anger and bitterness, which is something these
kind of people do NOT need more of.

Suppressing "extreme" views through law only creates
engenders a climate of secrecy and/or miltancy...

Example: whilst i do NOT believe the BNP in England are
anything close to a positive force, driving neo-fascism
underground would not be a good idea, as it only polarizes
the (already hateful) feeling. A legitimate expression of
freely-expressed racism is preferrable to a
much-harder-to-see polarized, physical racist threat.

Please use either "creates" or "engenders" as your
preference dictates. Whisky seems to have a negative effect
on the coherence of my posts.

"society has to teach people what's right and wrong."

And what better way than to say " See Johnny, that man over
there with the shaved head and the burning cross is an
asshole. If I ever catch you behaving in such a manner I
will be very angry and disappointed because I have taught
you better than that."

WTF do I need a goverment to legislate speech for? You are
obviously way more confident in these goons than you should
be.

If I could play devil's advocate for a moment, I'd have to
point out that neither of you is competent enough to have an
opinion and therefore should have your lips sewn shut
immediately.

"US should drop a nuclear weapon over the arabic states and
start from anew. Its easier to start from scratch then try
to rebuild.

Think of a car. Rather than repairing it and spending 2000$
in repair per year, after 5 years it's way too much
expenditure. Simply, buy a new car - to do so requires
throwing away or selling or destroying the old one.

Besides nuking them will cause trouble now but later on
everyone will be thankful"

great one qrter pointed out:

"We should pull all troops out of the middle east, and yes,
let the American nuclear fire cleanse the deserts from
Israel to India, and the faggot arab loving french too!"

and he hates bush.

it's weird coz as i was typing i was listening to "Hero Of
The War - Scott Walker"

"He's a hero of the war. All the neighbourhood is talking
'bout your son Mrs Riley, get his medals handed round to
everyone, show his gun to all the children in the street.
It's too bad he can't shake hands and move his feet....."

the one thing that the arab world never takes into
consideration is that the american people havent even
started to feel comfortable in their own land.

Here we are in the land of wilk and hone and we barely have
to squirm for the teat- make me

pay too much for my gasoline and watch out!

i think the only way to create 'utopia' in any sense of the
word is to first dispose of anyone thinking anything
differently than those creating that 'utopia'.

but in this day and age, diversity is a common knowlegde,
people are aloud to think differently than others. which. in
turn, makes a paradox. we seem to embrace the mosaic of our
world, but hold HUGE standards against those cultures that
differ from the "NORM"...

a working double standard, we live the hipocracy.

I started this thread hoping someone would be like, yeah i
understand what they mean blah blah. So i could kill them.

Anyway living in an arab country my whole life, i can just
say no one has any right to say arabs cause problems.
America causes problems. And no i dont hate all americans, i
just hate thier general attitudes, ignorance and lack of
knowledge about everything. Obviously that can't apply to
all americans, im sure they're are millions of cool
americans. But i have met and spoken to enough to understand
that most of them, are dicks. so blah.

petty shit like this and get yourself worked up about it.

There are laws that are seen as more important tan the
freedom of speech and that can put it out of play (at least
where I am).

Is think part of the state's responsability is to tell the
idiots to sit down and shut the fuck up.
