i didn't think the mentioning of cheney's daughter was a low blow, because i don't think it was a blow at all... who was being insulted? cheney's daughter has been explicitly mentioned in this campaign by the republicans before... maybe it wasn't necessary, but really he's just giving a human face to the issue... it would have made a lot less sense for him to choose anyone else, really... to just pick a name out of nowhere... like, say: Ellen... it'd be silly now... really... let's stop wearing the partisan on our sleeves..

I agree with DeadEight. How was mentioning Cheney's lesbian daughter a "low blow"? Is it because she's a lesbian? Is it because it is wrong to be a lesbian? Is it because as a father, the Vice President should be ashamed of his daughter's sexual orientation? How was stating that Cheney's daughter is a lesbian a shot below the belt?
It's homophobic bullshit. If I were Cheney, I'd be more insulted by the reaction from the media regarding Kerry's statement rather than the statement itself. There is nothing wrong with the statement because it is a fact, a fact that should not be considered a potshot because there is nothing insulting about it whatsoever. She's gay.

You are really stretching to try to justify what was no doubt just another instance of Bush's idiot-speak. The guy can't talk. He has a limited vocabulary and a self proclaimed inability to speak intelligibly. It's what makes him so likable to the ignorant masses.

they think it's a low-blow, because they know that many bush supporters are:
1 Ignorant - they may not have heard that Cheney's daughter is a Lesbian because they don't pay attention to the news.
2 Homophobic - when they find out that Cheney is breeding gays, they might think less of him.

In politics, you lose points for playing sincerely, but gain them by Seeming Sincere.
I think women understand the way this works better than men.

muahahaa :P
i dunno. i mean, i think bush lost a lot of his focus.. he was just giggling and being defensive and trashing kerry in every response or answer. he didn't focus on all the good he's done in the last 4 years, or the good he's going to do if he gets re-elected. he was acting very, intensely childish... i couldn't believe it. he kept talking about all these made up ideals of how things should be.. things that sound good, but don't work in practice.
like for example his view on abortion. he made it sound like adoption could replace abortion... yes, keep overpopulating the foster homes so you and your country can raise more poverty shriken children to go fight your make believe wars.
i think it's a lot more productive to not have kids at all then to give them a shitty life. not saying that all adoptions end up having shitty lives, but im sure it's not the greatest thing to go through as a child and or parents. no woman should be forced to have a child.
why wouldn't he leave abortion availble but not necessarily the first option?
why not use prevention menthods.. more sex education in schools that isn't only about girls mensturating? what about more widely available free contraception.... education. not stripping a woman of her rights. shit happens.. you shouldn't have to suffer for the rest of your life because of it. especially when it's soo easily preventable.
anyways, bush just spits out ideals... things he studied, was taught or forced to repeat. (he did repeat curtain irrelevant points a lot)
i don't necessarily TRUST or even like Kerry.. but he is obviously the better intellect here, and isn't that cruscial in picking a president?

sincere? a person who rapes or murders can be 100% sincere in what they do.
so buch is sincere? sincere in what excatly? not being fit to run a country.. but he's sincere in it.. so that's okay?
