You should be the official xltronic historian. Write a book,
and liscence it to phobiazero so he could sell it to finance
his trillion dollar server bill.

self-referential. so let´s have the 1500th vsnares/afx

xlt is part of the whole, so without it, the whole would not
be complete. or something. but seriously, it started out as
an autechre fan site, and look where it is today, i would
say that it is far from dead, and currently enjoying a
thriving golden age.

offline nacmat on 2004-07-31 08:43 [#01291304]
Points: 31271 Status: Lurker | Followup to mrgypsum: #01291282

it did not exactly start as an autechre site

back in the old days there were some sites created by phobia
and friends:

autechre.nu
aphextwin.nu
and I dont remember the name of the plaid website

but to be honest I htink aphextwin.nu was the real origin of
xltronic... xltronic is much more than the sun of those
three, but those three were the previous projects to the x
proyect

out of those three aphextwin.nu was the more solid and
visited site and the regulars that posted there are still
around in xltronic

You mean like Brownbeat, Sturgeon, Syncopated Yelp, Static
Jazz, Digital Vinyl, World Swing, PDSFS, Sexlixx,
Bongobongo, Accusatory Spasm and Embassy Muzak? You're
right, there's a whole host of new sounds out there.

idm was creative a few years ago. there won't be any more
'big' releases, druqks and confield are the endpoints of
that genre, the good music is somehwere else now

i still like to chat here though

What a moody, ultraviolent hat-wearing pair of crimebusters
they would be, and what a soundtrack! They'd make Dirty

i disagree. more and more and more new music is being
discovered every day by xltronic music lovers. mind you: not
"released" but "discovered by xml (xltronic music lovers) "
- when i discover something it gets new for me, right ?
there's so little to invent in music these days, there's
still so much to discover

Well, there isn't much more you can do with this site other
than the forums and possible interviews or exclusive things.
The big thing back when this was still .nu was the discog,
but since discogs is up and running, there's no reason why
any site anywhere that deals with electronic music would try
to pool together their own.

In other words, it doesn't look like it's going anywhere
fast.
