finally, some xlters who like chris morris. last time i
started a thread about him then only people that posted were
angry prudes with no sense of irony.

the blue jam radio shows were excellent too.

thanks for reminding me about dave schneider.. that guy has
such a funny face.
no one's mentionned (morris' long-time collaborator) peter
baynham though. the little welsh guy who's turned up in
shows with lee & herring, big train with kevin eldon,
partridge and is currently directing steve coogan's animated
sitcom on bbc2.
a lot of the jam/bluejam/jaaaaam/brass eye/day today
material was spawned from he & morris' twisted
imaginations.

my girlfriend hates jam.
but she has a sensitive soul. i, on the other hand, am dead
inside.

Sir Christopher Morris is the funniest guy ever. this is
great news. I wish people would lighten up a bit about his
comedy, people make more of a fuss about a spoof on pedos,
than paedophillia itself, (unless one moves in next door).
surely they are more 'twisted' than him?
anyway I can't wait. TV is so crap now.

The new show Morris is working on has a tentative title of
'Box Of Slices' (a play on TVGoHome's Nathan Barley vehicle
'Cunt')
So far the pilot has been filmed, Jimmy Carr auditioned but
never got the gig and from what I can make out seems to be
goading modern life in the same style as 'The Armando
Iannucci Shows'. Looks very good.

i hope the Armando Ianucci shows get released on DVD. I only
managed to see 3 out of the 6 episodes and every one was
absolutely delightful

peter baynam is a funny guy, especially his cooking for one
on lee & herring. i was watching a couple of old
friday/saturday night armistice episodes only last night,
they still make laugh really hard.

patrick marber aint too bad either, although i always got
the impression stuart lee hated him.

I think Stewart Lee hated most people though.
Saw him live at the Edinburgh Festival in 2000, which was
pretty funny. A year or two before that I saw both him &
Richard Herring on their 'This Morning With Richard Not
Judy' Tour.

Did you ever hear Fist Of Fun when it began on the radio?
Lee's "True Animal Fables" were much funnier there than they
ever were on TV. The whole thing was actually.

I find TV confines comedy a lot of the time. That's why
Brass Eye & The Day Today were such great programs, they
adopted & subverted the generic conventions of TV to make
them part of the comedy, rather than simple submitting to it
as a vehicle.
I think that was one of the most accomplished things about
the recent Garth Merenghi's Dark Place on C4.. what they
were saying/doing wasn't always especially funny. But the
way the program was made was.

I love all of Morris' stuff. If he does something to do with
TVGH that would be fucking awesome. Alan Partridge is
probably my favourite though.

from Morris's 6 months that changed a year article in the
Guardian:

"Twelve days after the collapse of the World Trade Centre,
amazed rescue workers uncover an entire office floor that is
still
doing business. Despite falling 890 feet and being buried
under
12,000 tons of rubble, all workers at Leeman Sachs Trading
Inc
are unharmed. They have remained at their desks since the
bank’s Tokyo HQ saw TV pictures of the burning towers,
called
them up and ordered them to keep working. ‘We were still
sitting at our desks when we landed in the rubble,’ said
one
dealer. ‘I actually completed three transactions on the
way
down.’ In fact trading at the buried floor has been so
good
since 11 September, the bank may sue the New York Fire Dept
for digging them out"

priceless!

Keyfumbler: You have impeccable taste. All of those are
great shows.

That was a hilarious quote by the way.

Haha I remember that. I remember laughing out loud when I
read about the intelligent missiles which were so
intelligent that as soon as they were deployed, they
detonated in the air, as they realised that violence only
leads to more violence :)
