corticalstim - a minor problem
***1/2
what can i say... i mean....
it sounded like someone hit the demo button of a casio
keyboard. somehow i found it terribly funny, and also truly
awesome in this weird way. it is a witty witty track.
i think, then again... maybe im terribly hurting your
artistic feelings. whew, it was good dude. heh.

the bro - oh yeah
***
this is like a total funkadelic odyssey man.
my few criticisms are these: the wah wah guitar went on
kinda long, there shouldve been some more freeform just sort
of break-off points where the song just jammed. other than
that, it's a solid and fun piece of enjoyable music.

awesomeness from the git go.
short man, too short.

call - un
cool constant rambling, the reverb is a bit out of control,
almost cheezy but the sound is enjoyable anyway. all the
parts coming in and out work well and the pads are
especially nice and give it the perfect spooky edge.

===

saskrotch - church mouse thrift store
reminds me of turntablist creativity, but is obviously
digitaly constructed, so nice job reviving that feel. the
coil-esqe choir w/ volume/repeate enveloping is blissful.

saskrotch - spring break
holy shit, this is what i'm into, dirty hard and fast. i
REALLY wanna hear some of this crunched down, please get in
touch ;D

===

plaidzebra - autumn_sketches
i had to grab it due to the title, and wasn't disapointed.
good moody shit that makes you fall. ..... a bit loopy, it
could use some change ups in sound, but a nice ambient peice
at least. i try and keep my ideas like this around two
minutes these days ... enough time to come in, set the mood,
and get out.

===

xcean - drills made of insoluble fecees
another one i had to hear for the title, but i wish i
hadn't. why doesn't it hurt? are these soft pleasure drills?
i can only imagine.

===

manicminer - i like all of your stuff! tasteful sounds and
composition. crunch it down, i'm sure it'll still sound
great ;D ... i've found the only stuff that doesn't is crap
that had no content, changes in sound, etc to begin with. i
found the jeff track a bit on the boring side, but i've been
treated to textone's minimal techno and l. nystrand's
awesome jazz-outs lately so, hard to live up to that stuff .
. . . .

xCEAN - level 12 teething ring
***
very mellow, very spacial. nice use of the robotic pips and
zips. reminds me almost of somethign youd hear in a
planetarium as a little kid. all the sounds felt very
compact and tiny (except that bass drum) which i liked. i
DID feel at a point that it kind of needed to have an
alternate melody come in overtop everythign else going on.
maybe an additional layer of rhythm. the extra rhythms
around the 4:00 mark are a ncie accent, but i still find it
needs a little somethin. all in all, if i were working on
this, id call it 80-85% complete. it just needs an extra
somethin to really make it whole. but the 80-85% that id
call doen, id also call very nice.

wow... some blues?
*drums come in* hm, now THAT's interesting.
*synth or organ comes in* now that IS interesting!
hmmmm
it almost sounds like if the strokes got REAL into jammin
one night when they were all real high or drunk and just got
into the trance or somethin. thats a lame description i
think, but somehow kinda fitting? i dont know, wow....
strange
there is a very disco or techno element to how its being
performed, but also very bluesy and radioheadish too

ziggomatic, you didn't _really_ disapoint me ;D ... but i
was hoping for more from the title

and really, the title is the only impression i have of a
track before i hear it, unless i know you personally, so
it's all i have to grab for/differentiate by in those few
seconds i spend deciding what to hear , he he he

also, there is plenty of free software that you can make
awesome music with. i would suggest this route over any
other. another good rule of thumb is to learn your tools and
exploit them to the max . .. . something i never did in my
days of pirating ... blah

very palace or papa m.
awesome progression.
i like the almost beer bottle sounding perc.
mmmmmm
*closes eyes*
ill tell you what id add if i was you....
piano.
a nice clean pearly piano, like something john lennon
would've used sonically.
and just have it mixed back a little in the middle, and do
some real dissonant single not kinda stuff playing off the
progression.
yum.

tlink - distance
wow, beautiful! i swear the kick sounds just like the one
i'm always synthesizing in LSDj, heh. the way everything
builds slowly and just drones on keeps the chilled out,
nestolgic/sad/contemplative mood going on ... the mutes keep
things a bit off kilter, interest up ... another one to
bitrape.

===

fabien - jean-ben ... carp.. . .panda
this track reminds me heavily of zippy the pinhead. is is
neo-oddity supreame, and surprisingly listenable at that,
with plenty of movement and expression. should i call it
minimal? lets debate. heeeeeeeeeeh

===

hummer - some music an that
yes please. crush it. harder. again. 8kbps. 4kbps. 1kbps. oh
god.

===

aoens - all of it
you know what you're doing and you do a great job at it.
thanks for the rad free music, i hope someday i can produce
shit as happening as your out takes ;D ... it's great
hearing intelegent electronic music that doesn't fall prey
to overly wanky/repeaty percussion

===

kcinsu - tempsampletrack
wow wow wow i'm definitly putting together a comp from all
these mellow tracks to set the mood for some slow,
passionate s3cKz this weekend.

===

the bro - oh yeah
yeah that wah goes on without any alternation for quite a
bit of time, gets anoying ... i'm such a sucker for claps
lately i love hearing that shit, steady groove with the hats
and claps there ... i wish that the claps varried more too.
vocals are cool, good composition besides the long wah
start!
