Would you support war on ANY country abusing human rights?
The two i mentioned above? China? Russia? Places where the
west has financial interests?

Lets get things into perspective now. China is a very big
country and so is Russia. So unfortunately human rights
issues have to be dealt with differently in these countries.
That is unless you want an end to the world I would say
going to war with those countries wouldn't be advisable.
Quite frankly its just plain unrealistic.

Yes China's human rights abuses are dispacable and
disgusting. That said they are moving on as a country and
the same with Russia. The thing you've got to appreciate
above all else, especially with China, is that it has no
concept of rule of law. It never has.

My view is, the countries and rulers which can be dealt with
should be dealt with. Whether that be Iraq, Iran,
Afganastain, Zimbabwe or elsewhere. And I'm not interested
in what supposed errors the West has made with whom it may
or may not have supported in the past. That is the past and
no doubt the West's intention's were good at the time.
However bad judgements are made and will happen again -
nothing is perfect. But using the past simply as a smoke
screen for no action and not doing what its necessary now is
ridiculous.

I don't believe for one minute that the "coalition of the
willing" intentions were pure when they invaded either
afghanistan or iraq (and ousted democratically elected
leaders elsewhere). Why is a former oil company tycoon now
running afghanistan?

The fact is that the west has very selective vision when it
comes to foreign policy: we have interests in indonesia, so
we provide weapons to crush dissenters in east timor. Goddam
russians invading afghanistan? Fund those towelheads to
crush the commies. Governments in south america getting just
a little left-wing? Try to force a coup.

As long as trade prospers to our benefit, the leaders of the
US, UK etc currently in power couldn't give a shit what we
do as long as nobody finds out. This isn't just a case of
"bad judgement" as you put it, but a systematic method of
keeping other nations at our beck and call. After all, even
after al-qaeda's '93 attack on the WTC, the attacks on
american embassies and warships, the Bush family STILL kept
financial ties with the oil-rich bin laden family. Would
this be a case of self-serving financial interests at the
expense of loss of life? Or just bad judgement? Food for
thought.

I've already given my view. I can't speak for other's
supposed actions or intentions. Of course if you dig deep
enough sure you're gonna find fault in any system but that
wasn't my point. My point was a very simple one it was about
human rights issues. Nothing of course is black and white
and no doubt there is plenty of grey area in government. Of
course that doesn't excuse it. But just think within your
own microcosm of activity do you always make the right
descision? You might find its not as easy to answer as you
might believe. Of course when it comes to conducted matters
ethically of course that must be adhered to. But people's
ethics and moral codes have a funny habit of being ignored
when the chips are up but when they're down every man and
his dog wants to question them.

By the way I am not trying to score a victory.

I don't think there's any "victory" to be scored in simply
discussing viewpoints, obviously ours differ quite a bit. Of
course nobody's ethical codes are infallible (i know mine
aren't), but i think that in government, a tendency to "look
the other way" when torture and genocide are concerned
simply because we have financial interests in the area is
inescusable. It happens too often to be simply bad judgement
in my opinion.

burglars
being attacked when I'm naked, in the shower, especially

I also used to have fear of cars until I had to face my fear
when my mother ran over my foot and stayed on it for about 2
minutes until she realised why i was screaming at her to get
off...
