word to that!
by the way, some other news about it I failed to mention. One of the bosses is gigantic, i'm talking bigger than any RE boss you've ever seen (think ten tyrants AT LEAST) and this boss can HURL Leon, grab him, even eat him. I hope ALL the bosses are like that.

Agreed. But they'll both be amazing.
In other news, I picked up Resident Evil Outbreak for PS2 the other day and started a save this evening. Great game. I don't have online capabilities for PS2, though, I don't like online gaming. As for single player, well, it's a Resident Evil game. It plays the same offline as on, except your allies are a bit stupider.
But on the plus side, you can make them do whatever you want, no matter how idiotic! That's a plus.
The graphics are fantastic, especially for PS2. Great looking character models and full 3D backgrounds. And the opening theme music is one of the best songs in video game history, hunt it down.
There's fun additions like busting down doors, barring doors and nailing them shut, enemies that can follow you through rooms, hiding in lockers, using everyday objects as weapons, stuff like that.
Offshoot RE games tend to suck, but this one is a keeper.

silent hill is consistently good - sadly, i haven't played silent hill 3 yet even.
but "the room" concept behind sh4 sounds very unique - can't wait to see how they pull it off.
by the way, anyone here played anything from the clock tower series? the SNES original was pretty ahead of its time, but confusing. the first PSX one was pretty good, but the second one was laughable. haven't played Clock Tower 3 yet, but i want to...

HOLY SHIT
Has anyone seen the 8 minute video of Resident Evil 4? This is the best looking console game I've ever seen. The character models are better than Half Life 2, and have WAY more style, and the backgrounds are photorealistic, all at 60fps. I have a newfound respect for the Gamecube hardware. All you really see is the first wooded area, but it's stunning. I can't wait to see some architecture.
The combat and movement look superb. Shooting people looks almost TOO sadistically fun. And the demo is dripping with atmosphere. Can not wait for this game. Please Lord, no delays, so setbacks.

where did you see this video?
i agree about gamecube hardware - it's definitely more powerful than PS2, the only reason not as many people appreciate it is because many developers have failed to use it to its full potential. the graphics chip i believe was developed by ATI, who may be involved in the Xbox successor....

I got it here, but you have to have IGN Insider to view it. It just came out last night, and I'm sure someone will get a free version up eventually, if there's not already.
Looks like the item boxes are gone, thank God... just let me carry whatever I want, whenever I want, like Silent Hill. The ink ribbons are still around, which I don't mind.
