i would... i fucking hate working 9-5, 6 days a week...

i dont think its a principle thing either, the world is a
fucked up place, in which money increases your quality of
life...

sucks yeah, i wouldnt like it, but i'd like to make a
living.

if i ever get to the point where making music pays the
bills, THEN ill worry about my principles..

Ditto...

Especially if it was some old track you'd done 2 years ago
and now thought was rubbish.

If someone turned up on my doorstep and offered me a million
for full copyright control of all my old tracks I'd give it
to them in an instant. This isn't to say I make music to
make money, far from it... but if music I make for myself
and people online like yourselves can be sold that's dandy.

what principles and morals are you people talking
about...specifically; non of this vague "selling your soul
to corporations"...exactly, what moral is that offending.
Do you have a specific don't-sell-your-music principle.

The principle which grew from the realisation that the
Consumer-based Corporate West systematically fucks over
regular people, fucks over the environment, and fucks over
other countries, just to have increased profit margins nad
increased control over everybody.

Seems like most of you have been bought, spiritually and
physically. I will continue to fight for my personal
freedom, both spiritual and temporal, and will fight for the
freedom of others. Label me what you will, just know you
have lost.

let's finish this by putting it this way:

which is the worst betrayal of yourself:

1. giving a big commercial corporation one of your tunes in
exchange for a large sum of cash, or

2. spending the rest of your life working for a big
corporation by tidying up the washing-powder shelves by 6pm,
day-in, day-out, with nothing to keep you happy but your
shitty wage packet, your barely-afforded second hand juno
106, and your high-and-mighty principles?

On a game soundtrack its a different matter. Its part of an
artistic creation as opposed to just being slapped on for a
quick fix as like in the adverts. Trent's work on Quake is a
good example as is the soundtracks on games like Ghost In
the Shell and Wipeout where some of the songs were actually
commissioned. Even the most extremely independent artists
like Neubauten and Coil have created music to be used for
commercials.

What irritates me and drives me to the mute button (which I
strongly recommend doing to keep the sanctity of your
favorite piece of music) is when a corporation like Burger
King or MacDonalds commission some hack to write knockoff
versions of "Hip" sound. It makes me want to throw the
remote through the TV screen.

Fuck you and fuck your guilt-projection, Scup Bucket.
Nothing I've said is false... the Western Culture is corrupt
and fake and manipulated by suited fucks who prey on the
weaknesses of people... Some people don't accept this mode
of living and will fight against it. Others will crumble and
snipe at those who give a damn and will ACT on their
principles.

offline scup_bucket from bloated exploding piss pockets on 2003-12-11 19:03 [#00987532]

acting on "principles" is what caused the crusades.
and "western culture" is a culture like every other culture;
corruption is a very common problem in any society.
i think, if i understand what you are saying, you may
be thinking more like me than you think. i do not accept
this society. People are set in their ways and think they
are better off than others; they think their society is
"good". that's why i plan on moving away SOON, to a place
without a giant body ruling over me. Without a
government/corporation (same thing) brainwashing everyone
into thinking they're happy.
but i also get a bad vibe when you say "acting on
principles". you seem to be an extremist version of me,
blinded by rage.

01) The Crusades were not based on any pure Principle.

02) Western Culture is not a culture like every other - it
specialises in assimiliating what is good about other
cultures and then systematically raping the soul of it until
only an empty husk is left.

03) The Western Corporations have their eyes set on the
Globe. Moving away will only appear to temporarily solve
YOUR problems (and running away is a very selfish act), but
in the long run, it will only be the worse for you.

04) Please do not call me an "extremist version of me", it's
extremely patronising and condescending.

05) If you HAD read any recent posts of mine, you would know
I am motivated by LOVE, not hate.

offline scup_bucket from bloated exploding piss pockets on 2003-12-11 19:30 [#00987570]

1.) "05)" in your last message made no sense when compared
to your recent posts, which were very unloving.

2.) moving away IS selfish, you are right...i suppose it is
selfish to want happiness.

3.) EVERYTHING you say seems to be an attack on everyone
else. I am not the patronising, condescending asshole;
only to unreasonable, biased, condescending, patronising,
morally-reassured jerk faces.

4.) many westerners wish the people representing us would
stop expanding. and MANY of them are acting against them,
only to remain uncovered by the media and/or shot down by
them.

5.) "pure" is a buffer word, therefore your argument means
nothing. christianity as a base for ones principles is not
unheard of.

(oops i went backwards.)

01) Selfishness is exactly what is not needed to combat the
current situation concerning the Western Capitalist
Mentality.

02) The Crusades were mostly about enlarging European Royal
Power bases, not about selflessly trying to enlighten the
middle easterners.

As I said before, call me whatever you wish to call me--I am
not interested in the excuses you make ot yourself to make
you feel more comfortable with yourself.

WeatheredStoner - I look after Children in a poor area of

two years together with a few other individuals I've been in
contact with, where we plan to implement certain plans.

assuming i hate myself, does that make my assumed hate for
you any less hatefull.

basically, you are using this "you dont hate me, you hate
yourself" statement as a way to dismiss all that i say(or
anyone else says) and increase the assuredness in your
perfectly biased views. so..."everything you say bounces off
me and sticks to you"

what i want to run away from is aggressive people (like you)
who insist that their views are the only correct views and
that nobody else has anything worthwhile to say.

At least they could buy the rights to use the original

Kesson Daslef was used to advertise "girl cops" a series on
sky one (not too long after drukqs was out). There's been
another one since that used Jynweythek Ylow as well, but I
can't remember what it was advertising. Both were for
programs rather than products. "Life of Grime" has used
Gwely Mernans at least twice too.
