thats so fuckin lame!

#1: like someone else said, its gotta be a fuckin joke.
#2: if its NOT a joke its even sadder because again like
someone said if she really cared about her "art" she would
not be selling it, and even if she was selling it, it would
be cheap because obviously there is going to be a small
percentage if any that will want to pay that much for 1 cd.
let alone the whole 4 disc set for a couple grand.
#3. shes not that good, sure its nice stuff, but its not
amazing by anymeans.
#4. she sounds stupid.

this is the funniest thing on her web page and I quote :

"I am only performing for 50 thousand dollars. No joke. They
are losing billions of dollars, selling untalented people.
They have laid off thousands of people. The majors have no
talent on their rosters. If they were "very" talented, they
would be able to sell a billion copies world-wide. There are
six billion people in the world. I whip them good. There
isn't anyone as talented as I am in that biz. They don't
know the value of art. They think that music is worthless.
They sell people who can't sing, they have no quality"

qrter: ok... so I was trying to be nice for some reason. I
mean its not UNtalented.. it is quite boring and I have a
hard time believing that this cunt actually thinks that shes
gonna have people wanna buy this shit for that much money.
which is ridiculous.

check it out

She's either certifiably insane or some performance artist
staging the greatest put-on ever.

good lookin' out. before clicking on the topic i figured you
were just going to ask the question and open it up for
discussion. i had in mind to say "that's preposterous, how
can a whole style of MUSIC be pretensious? some of the most
creative music is 'IDM'. it's only some of the musicians and
fans that are pretensious, not the whole genre." but wow,
EMO music (the only bad thing fugazi and slint ever did was
unleashing this crap on us) takes the cake for
pretensiousness. not only are most of the dedicated fans
obnoxious and arrogant and pretensious to indescribable
degrees, the singing and music is almost completely
predicated on PRETENDING to be hurt and marginalized when in
fact they're just whining about shit the whole world has to
put up with. they're selling reality to the (rich,
sheltered) reality-deprived.

this marissa bitch should learn to spell-check before trying
to sell her albums for thousands of dollars. and naming
songs "Pretty little Posers" and "University of the Vapid
and Vacuous"? talk about hitting the nail on the head.

notice how she has no gigs lined up and in place of a
listing she's just whining some more about her supposed
talent being overlooked and people being sheep. funny girl.

I find it funny how IDM fans as a whole get described as
pretentious (I suspect largely due to the name, "intelligent
dance music") when actually we're one of the most open to
other genres... I regularly see discussion of classical, hip
hop, drum and bass, rock, indie etc. here and like music in
all those genres. EMO. garage and RnB fans (not to mention
artists) are all (generally speaking) a lot worse
than us.

absolutely.. and when i check out, say, radiohead boards,
which is super-rare, almost none of them have even HEARD of
the stuff most people here listen to (and not just the IDM),
and there's really no encouragement to talk about anything
but current rock music. similarly, hip-hop boards rarely
stray away from hip-hop except for people's "sigs"
(signature lines) which list their current favorite albums
or quotes, here a bunch of indie and mainstream rock stuff
comes up. sometimes i give CERTAIN people here a hard time
about being closeminded to other music but the reason i
didn't leave this place ages ago is because nowhere else is
such great and diverse music discussed on the regular.

i just gave slint and fugazi the biggest compliment: that
the only thing they can be blamed for is unleashing "emo" on
us. in other words, i'm saying they were (and in fugazi's
case still are) amazing bands who i love very much. it just
sucks that they were SO good that they inspired a generation
of poor imitations with commercial and sappy leanings.

haha, i love these really subtle satirical sites. it has to
be a joke, yet its done well enough so no one is quite sure
whether its real or not, usually theres at least one really
absurd thing that tips you off.. like the $1000 for one
album.
the scary thing is that the site doesnt have to exaggerate
such things too much to make a satire of them.

i hate all these wannabe freaks who develop an obsession

she seems to have invented some person called Eres J.

I think she's just trying to be the female Vincent Gallo,
only Vincent comes off as funny and crazy, she just sounds
boring.

Her poetry makes me think it's just a conceptual
prank...it's just too bad to be real.

Vincent Gallo has basically taken over Friendster.com. He
has the biggest account on it, with 500 'friends'. I asked
to be his 'friend' and I got a email saying he approved my
request, but when I log on he's not connected to me. I
think it's just Friendster is a piece of crap that doesn't
function.

Another money quote:

"I am a genius talent. I know it. I am keeping my music to
myself now. Because I realize our culture loves tatoos, low
class people, ugliness, dum idiots., money, sluts, porn, and
filth of every kind. I am too good to give you anything. You
don't care about our culture. You are glad that it is this
way. Your whole priorities are with money and yourself. You
don't care if I am more talented then the beatles. Because
you believe that women are not that gifted. That is how you
were brought up. I have more talent then they did. But you
don't care. You are satified with seeing women with no
talent rip their clothes off. That is how dumb you are."

Mellissa Marchent, or whatever her name is. I've forgotten
already.

Commerialism and Mc.Donolds music
A review of Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette

People are so used to hearing music that fits in a little
box.
Commerialism is not fine art.
Low art sells to
peasants world wide.
they sell music at greasy wing
prices. the only culture they have is bacteria. NOt a
joke.
I sell my music for one thousand dollars a album
because I am fine art and the real thing.
I am not plain
jane like all of these people.
I know the value of
art.
I charge 25 thousand dollars to perform.
I write
every style of music and sing every style of the high level.
much higher then the biz.
I play a few instruments very
very well.
I studied opera for years..and sing every
style of music and write every style.

on a change for us to perform on her festival:

advanced musicians wanted ...for festivals

Calling ALL genius's..!!!!
hi, I am organizing festivals and I am counteracting the
anti-talent movement that has been happening for twenty or
so years.. are you a GENIUS????? can you write one song
after another that is original and strong..and are you a
seriously gifted instrumentalist.. and/ or have very unusual
vocal talent..do you have serious discipline.?? are you a
perfectionist.. ?? are you one these people who likes to
play many instruments extremely well??? do you exceed all
the people in the major label industry?? I believe you are
out there..numbers of you..I love vinyl and quality..I am
getting some icons to back these festivals.. but have to
have extraordinary talent.. any style of music.. any race ,,
age...female..male..disabled...any nationality is accepted..
thankyou...don't feel scared to contact me..if you know
anyone who is a genius..don't be jealous of them..tell them
about this ad.
