yeah, the more I listen, the more I enjoy it... seriously, tracks 6 through 10 kick major ass... and the other ones, track 1 especially, are real good... I think I like this better then Double Figure...

I really dont see why this album is such a let-down to most of you. Personally I think it's their best to date. Closely followed by Double Figure.
B Born Droid and Get What You Gave are not great IMO, but I can't say I dislike a single track.
Definately in my top 3 of this year.

really though, Spokes is blowing me away... I only own two Plaid full albums, this and Double Figure, and this album just sounds more, mature I guess... double figure, while good and everything, sounds maybe a little too playful... so yeah, I say Spokes is better... not sure how I'd compare P-Brane though... P-Brane is awesome, although probably too short... so again I'd pick Spokes... so yeah, I rank my plaid albums this way...
Spokes P-Brane Double Figure...

i allso have p-brane, double figure and Spokes.. Dont want to compare P-Brane with the LP's so here is my list. I somehow do like the more melancholic sound of Double Figure and the more play variant tracklist. But dont get me wrong, Spokes is great too. And the Dial P is awesome, ITSU is amazing

You can't possibly not like Double Figure if you like Spokes. I think Double Figure is still better.

I don't like it. I listened to it daily for a week mixed with other artists and I found myself skipping Spokes pretty soon. I like Rakimou and one other track that was on their first 3 track EP. Other than that, I think Plaid is boring. This latest CD really confirmed it for me.

i really love plaid, better than boc or squarepusher or even aphex -- but i really skip through spokes...i listen to the first couple songs, and then one in the middle, and that's it.

I'm in the "plaid usually bores me but this ROCKS" category.
Zeal is definitely the single best track I've heard this year.
I love the foldout CD cover - a nice colorful change from the dull minimalist monochromatic rubbish you usually get with "idm" releases.

I don't get what people see in Rakimou - it's like Dead Can Dance leftovers.

It's a very advanced album melodically and harmonically, particularly once it picks up from track 4 onwards (though 1 is excellent.)
Yeah, it's great. Dark, emmotional, complex etc...

'marry' owns so sick! Fucking dark and lush.
Does anyone out there think that the first track sounds like Damon Albarn from Blur?

It's grown on me a bit, but it ain't no double figure, or even Bytes. There's a couple of wicked tracks in my regular rotation though.

After having it a while now, I'm finding it rather... well, boring. I think it's the songs structures - many of the tracks seem to build then just peter out, which is a shame, as they feel more like sketches than whole tracks. There are some superb moments though in most of the tracks...

Just arrived today. My first venture into Plaid territory and I must say that what I have heard so far is quite enjoyable. Especially Even Spring, which I think I shall make my new daddy. The cover art rocks too.
