Math doesn't need to be made out of anything. Math is an a priori concept: it exists independent of time and space. Observations about the universe are usually true at one time or another, but not in all instances. Math holds true in all instances.

what you mean is: 5.000_(infinte 0's)+2.999_(infinite 9's)=8.000_(infinte 0's).
It's kind of a difference between an engineer's view and a mathemetician's view.

I realize I'm being silly - what I mean by all of this is that mathematics is a way that humans model reality, just like theology, and that the universe would tick along until it runs down if there were neither priests or mathematicians.
Certainly mathematics is a better language to describe the universe than the language of superstition, but it's a human construct nonetheless. You hadn't ought to reify it.
