Amber is one classic electronica-album! A timeless classic!

amber may be the worst release from ae for some, but it
still kicks the shit out of 99.9% of the other electronica
out there.

Then those "some" of whom you speak are meeeeental....anyone
who prefers Draft to Amber ain't from my school of
music....

(Not that I've got a school of music, y'know, I mean, it was
just a turn of phrase to illustrate a point, like....)

:-)

That's how I feel about Tri-Repeate. That album is
technically, and artistically genius. There is nothing else
like it - its beats are flawlessly sequenced and layered.
I don't however, want to give the impression that the rest
of autechre is of any lesser quality.

Fuck...everything is good.

i dig amber. slip is really nice. glitch/piezo is chill.
further takes the cake, and yulquen/nil/teartear are
wicked!

tri-repetae inches past it in terms of favorite. but
Garbage/Anvil Vapre stuff is more my style. and then
there's envane and cichlisuite........

yeah...i believe amber is an album that's much too
underrated. i suppose autechre's changing of styles, as they
always undergo each album, was taken poorly by a lot of
people. it isn't my favorite album by autechre, but i like
it enough to have bought the cd and vinyl versions of the
album.

I agree with you wholeheartedly.

oh yeah.. Ae lyrics.. let's see:
There's something in UnderBOAC like 'Is it washable?'
haha.. priceless

Jesus fucking christ I just listened to Fart Carrier and now
i want to burn both my vinyl copy and CD of LP5.

I burn all of my CD's and store the originals in a sealed
lead chamber 20 feet below the earth's surface.

Continuing the tradition, Amber was also my first ae
purchase. (When I first heard of ae I had no idea of which
album to get, so I chose Amber because I really liked the
cover. (Which is kind of odd, since LP5 was my next
purchase.)

Nine is still one of my favourite ae tracks, so very, very
beautiful.

I think Nine is my favourite track as well. It's quite
surprising, because normally I prefer more rhythm oriented
tracks.
