are we freaks?

i only post here.

i don't think 'freaks' is the right word.
'cyber losers' is more apt.

we're so anti social, we cant even have virtual
conversations in real time. having slow wit, we prefer the
delay afforded us by the message board.

at least that's me. i'm such a self-concious cyber-loser, i
almost always have dictionary.com up in a second window so i
don't mispell too many wurds and luk lyke aye dummee.

those boring people you see in real life are really cool
members of this MB (or another)

home and plug myself into the toaster and become virtual

i don't mind really, i go out with friends plenty, i have a
girlfriend, i'm good at making friends, i can handle social
situations etc etc etc

yes i AM a geek, very proud of it, i do spend alot of time
on the net, but my social life is good, i wouldnt call
myself a freak, the real freaks are the girls who go out and
drink WKD and fall out of their dresses trying to get fucked
by the big stupid meat-head guys who all they care about is
15 pints and fuck and a fight

In the future, the internet will have played a big part in
the next stage of human evolution. These messages will be
the first artifacts of disembodied consciousness. Some
people here might then be seen as pioneers in that respect.
Plus, one day when AI talk to other AI on messageboards like
this, it will provide them with ample reference on what
"real" people were like.

here where it all began
freak or geek

offline Nexus 6 from Netherlands, The on 2003-07-17 18:54 [#00784183]
Points: 3221 Status: Lurker

We're not freaks. Not at all. I don't have a bad social
life, not at all, but when I'm on the internet I'm much
better at interracting with people. You see, I think very
abstract. I have just a few friends with who I can speak to
about it. But when I'm all typing it, it's much easier to
find the right words and the right descriptions. In dutch of
course :s
Unfortunately my english is not good enough to describe my
deep thoughts well, but I'm working on that. I just need to
learn more words.
So, anyway, if you're not good at interracting with people
in your social life, this mb can be very good to keep a part
of that social life very much intact. And if you are having
a good social life, this mb can be an extra source of
intelligence maybe, or just a timespending method.

i think i might be the opposite. i hate computerrs in a way.
i hate that i make 'friends' that i know nothing about, not
trruly and that i'll neverr know them prroperrly.
