drukqs?
i find all these releases pretty simmilar

I like Bilious Paths because Mike P has gone way back in
electronic music and dragged a whole heap of sounds into the
future...it is like a nostalgia trip 10 years from now :D!!!

where do people get the idea that ktpa tracks were made in 5
minutes?

it's not that easy to produce some of those sounds you
know?

you gotta watch a digital graphic EQ while the tracks are
playing... it's really interesting.

all this talk about liking different era of aphex's music
being linked to when you started listening is a big joke.

the only thing i see, is that a bunch of the new fans are
really not "'ardcore" or "underground" like nearly all old
rdj fans and he sure tried to go mainstream with his music
after the rdj lp, but i think a release like smojphace is
aimed at the fans who like his more undergound noisy/dancey
stuff as opposed to 26MfC who was more like a commercial
release with tracks that everybody could like, ambient
tracks and all...

and yes, ktpa1 & 2 are not some throw away noise everybody
can do by twiddling an old analog synth for 10 min, if you
pay attention there is a structure, there is rythm and some
very seeply buried melodies + as OK said technically and
sonically they are very interesting, not everyone taste fo
sure

i don't listen to these 3 times a day but stop saying things
like "he's taking the piss!" - "they are shit!" - "i can do
it!" because it's simply not true, just say you don't like
it !
=) =) =)

I actually listened to a bit, about 2 minutes, of ktpa1
(downloaded some, no way am I paying for noise). And even
though I've no experience in this field, this noise I found
actually alright.

impression

I like it. Played the remix at a party and some people were
loving it, asking who it was, others freaking out and saying
please stop... i also mixed up ktpa 1 with some other tracks
later and it really works as a mixing tool

Yeah, a few weeks later and this stuff still sucks. Oops. I
guess I could play it for my cousins to show how advanced
and knowedgeable and weird I am compared to those Good
Charlotte fans... so it's not TOTALLY pointless.

sure it was just an accident

offline nacmat on 2003-07-01 04:16 [#00763375]

track 1. its ok... maybe with time...
track 2
track 3. I liked both.... very relaxing... but I have never
listened to merzbow so I just can compare this to other
noise music artists

but I would never say that this release is crap or shit....
I find it much more interesting than many others he has done
under other aliases (bradley, pacman, gak...)

aphex likes to search the limits

offline REFLEX from Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) on 2003-07-01 05:37 [#00763423]

well I wouldnt say its anywhere near searching the limits.

I agree it was a very low key release of the stuff he's
experimenting with / playing out at the moment, and i'm
pleased to be able to hear it.
