sleep a waste of time?

i like sleep. i strive to get 10 hours/day .. though i
probably average around 9 or so ...

dunno, i feel i can think sharper (and memorise stuff
better) with sleep. a few years back i had some periods of
serious sleep deprivation .. just turns everything into a
blur. Re: ganj it's nice, but i find it blunts my faculties
a bit - takes a while to sharpen up again.

i hate the fact that i will end up sleeping close to half of
my life. so much wasted time.

so, what about the dreams, then? ' _ '

i disagree. i definitely like sleeping, and even though
you're not (or only partially) aware of it, it's one of the
few escapes i have when i'm feeling down. and the dreams can
be a great source of imagination.

and also, we already live for so long... better to live for
80 years with half of the time sleeping than to live for 40
years non-stop, maybe - you see more evolutions in the
world... no? well that's my opinion. (of course you can
always say you'd rather live for 80 years non-stop... or
something... or... whatever)

(especially for hot women dreams)
imagine without sleep there would be no morning glory!
still i can manage without it.
i spent 36 hours awake flying to london being at the
rephresch night, spending some time in london and flying
right back and my memory is ace!

John Bratby was a kick ass painter who used to do that. His
paintings sold for so little he was forced to stay awake
painting for days on end. He would literally collapse at the
easel. He did some mental pictures. Sadly only his famous
"normal" stuff is online, but the illustrations he did for
books are crazy.

Ophecks, uhhh ok.....
Considering how much our bodies go through in one day, it
only seems resonable.

Our bodies "need" to sleep.

Accordingly, our bodies "need" to dream.

We think dreams are good and all, but the point is they
happen for a reason.

If you go days without sleeping, you will notice your dreams
coming into reality. You will start seeing things, and
having natural hallucinations.

Our bodies need to sleep. Sleep makes the mind perfect. It
is a fact. Sleep lends your mind towards perfection. Not
sleeping results in oddities such as clumseyness and lack of
attention; slow.

sleep isn't lame! it's the most beautiful and soothing state
of mind there is.

I can think of no other thing, besides sex of course, that
is better than sleeping.

to avoid sleep is potentially very harmful, and it sure
fucks with your head (try doing amphetamine for two weeks
straight, and you'll hopefully get the point as to why sleep
is so important).

i know - it's so low i can't even begin to describe how
horrible it is to walk around chewing your tongue for two
weeks and being unable to sleep.

it renders me dead at the end.

after talking about this topic for quite some time last
night... i did just fall asleep, coz i had nothing better to
do... and the bed was relaxing to the thought... popped in
some SAWII & fell asleep for 9 hours, b4 i had to take a
piss!

lol... i still think sleep is a waste of time, i could have
been travelling through the states or hithchiking or doing
something to experience the world, but instead ... i was
sleeping! bah!

i understand.. not eating, sleeping... breaking your teeth,
hearing voicves and seeing shadows. it's fun, till it's over
and recovering means sleeping 20 hours a day...

almost :)

all physiological needs are plesurable: eating, drinking,
shitting, pissing, screwing, saying hello to your
monster/monstrette, sleeping etc..

and they're worth the time, period!

spending my time sitting on a toilet or puking it up i would
probably give that a shot or two.

see what happened was, i was in summer school, which means i
woke up around 6:30, then stayed at my friends house that
night, didn't sleep, smoked a lot of weed, went to summer
school, then got back around 2 and sat down to a game of
something or other.

the vibrating controller kind of shook me out of it, thats
when i decided it was time to sleep

i've got the will to drive myself sleepless
i've got the will to drive myself sleepless
i've got the will to drive myself sleep, less, sleep, less,
sleep, less, sleep, less...

i think we don't need half as much sleep as a lot of us get,
especially during the summer and on weekends. but a lot of
us can't think of better things to do between 2-10am, so...?
at least sleep is enjoyable. if i could think of something
fabulous to do between those hours i'd probably shave off
some hours, but until i find some motivation you can catch
me in my bed sleeping like a log.

there are different opinions on exactly how much sleep we
need. and it depends on a few factors: age, level of
physical activity and such.

new-borns and infants need lots of sleep, while the grannies
need just a few hours every night..

I usually sleep 7-8 hours during the working days, and
prolly something between 9 to 11 hours during
weekends/holidays.

no matter how much or little sleep I get, I'm still in a
state of coma when i wake up

masturbation or sex?

I KNOW that if i were to find a hot ass chick to spend my
time with for the rest of my life... i WOULD NOT want to
sleep... all i would want to do is bone... call that sick &
disgusting... but it works for me

i see what you mean, but what if the hot ass chick was a
total cunt? it happens...

anyway, it's true that ppl need less sleep depending on
different factors, but for strapping young lads like us, we
don't need as much as a lot of us get... we just are used to
it and can get away w/ sleeping so much cos a lot of us
don't need to wake up for a job (or 2), myself included at
the moment

well... yes, you speak the truth about sleeping WAY too
much... i mean, seriously, isn't it true that the only
possible way to know how other people learn or to even learn
things or experience things for yourself... you need to be
awake...

it does not make any sense why our brains haven't evolved
into blocking out sleep and just learning and being awake

also, i do not plan for getting involved with a chick just
to bone or even spend time with... i'd change who i am for
that person, only to be hurt by them after i get screwed
over by their actions... literally

I like sleeping. Going to the toilet, however, is a waste of
time.

There are many times I'm in the toilet and thought to
myself; "Damn, I just want to get back to writing my song
(or whatever I'm doing.)"

i like taking the biggest shits possible and just being in
total awe that my body digested that much stuff... crazy
thing to think about

but the average human in a life time shits the volume of an
olympic sized pool!

Reminds me of that scene in 'Blue In the Face' where Michael
J. Fox asks a guy if you've ever looked at your poop and
been impressed.
