Madonna can anyone take her seriously!

I was utterly obsessed with Madonna in the early 90s. Used
to have scrap books full of stuff about her. I think she was
at her hottest in the Erotica/Justify My Love phase.

three-timing actually, when i saw how well it turned out i
made a 3rd version for the next PHUX pack :)

so how comez you didn't email me your ftp info, i'm sure
it's a simple instruction

-----------
ceri, i wasn't thinking of it in those terms, but you're
absolutely right. they're stealing from us financially cos
we have to pay inflated prices for "rare" and import
releases cos it doesn't sell well enough to be in stores
(longer than 2 weeks). plus artists get dropped for poor
sales. tons of my fave artists have recorded music in recent
years that has been caught up in red tape and may never,
ever be heard because the label doesn't think it'll sell. it
sucks that they're right. so many people don't buy music,
and they don't even discriminate between the madonna's and
the esthero's in music.

Please don't be under the illusion that less piracy would
lead to lower prices. If anything, I would have thought
prices would rise as labels aren't forced to lower prices to
boost sales.

i know, record prices are fixed, i wasn't debating that...
record labels are for the most part infinitely greedy. i was
referring to albums that go out of print cos assholes don't
buy it.

Madonnas rap is embarrasing , my face turn red when i hear
it and i just want to kill myself. WHat was she thinking???
I guess no one dared to tell her how shit it was during the
recording sessions (cause you know...she's Madoona) and now
she walks around believing she's a regular techno B Girl
down with Missy n stuff haha! That is until she reads the
album reviews....

then more assholes download it because it's out of
print.

albums were going out of print long before people had the
ability to download them.

most of the stuff i download, i never would have bought
anyway.
many of the bands who's music i now buy i never would have
heard of if i didn't download their album first.
some of the c.d.'s i bought, i never would have purchased
had i downloaded the album first. (see: the Isness)

in short: i am an asshole who downloads heaps of music. i
hope the whole industry crashes so people would just make
music for the love of music and not for the paycheck.

shitty excuse.. pardon the recurring theme..

i know copying albums is a decades old practice but it's
never been as prevalent as it is now... i don't need to hear
your defense, you're one person, not a large percentage of
people.

on a lighter note, i heard about the person who hacked her
site and placed her new album in mp3 format on there. haha.
and im sure you heard about how she was making copies of
mp3s which had the song info but actually had her saying
'what the fuck do you think you're doing?' or something like
that.. and the person who hijacked her site put 'this is
what the fuck i think im doing' or something like that. then
the person put a reference to a girl on an american station
called techtv, asking 'morgan webb, will you marry me?'
hahah.. silly kids :)

I think all this jealously bullshit has got to go. I don't
mind her making lots of money, what the fuck is it to people
anyway? Who cares if record companies make loads of money or
don't. Are people suggesting that they loose money?
Executives and individuals (within Record companies) have to
be motivated, shareholders have to be pleased etc etc. What
is it to people whether she is greedy or not she's earnt,
NOT YOU? So wake up this is the real world, not some fantasy
lazy arse communist state!

i enjoy madonna's stuff, for what it is......fun POP music.
she tries different things and i respect that in any
artist........she doesn't stick with what she 'knows' so to
speak and thats really brave.

i could care less how much $$ she has, or anything else
about her personally.....doesn't really effect me one way or
another.

i do think it's wrong to BURN cd's of ANYONE's music.....no
matter how rich you think they are, etc.......when do you
draw the line with stealing? when someone has X amount of
dollars....theft is theft.....it doesn't hurt any less for
those people who have more $$ than you or i.

they should make CD's cheaper.
i think you should make music for fun and not for the
money.
and it could benefit those mp3's, because there would be
less profit, and allot of top of the pop artist who just
make music for money will go away because it's not highly
profitable anymore.
as result, that people who just like to make music are left
over

It'd be like forced artistic integrity :)

Anyone heard the punk song (can't remember the band) "Fuck
Maddona"?
Quite funny.

do you actually EAT with that hand? *gives you a condom for
lunch*

anyway, this "music should be made for fun" thing may sound
fine in theory, but it's ridiculous in practice... i don't
think it's asking a lot of us to pay for cd's, it's not like
you condone all other forms of theft so why make an
exception for this? madonna isn't a good example of this,
but for those of you who don't buy independent label stuff,
why? at least you know where your money's going, versus the
million and billion dollar corporations you're funding when
you buy clothes and groceries. think about it.

*does the condom thru the nose trick*

Yeah you should buy the indiependent stuff! Agreed.
Tho if i where to buy all the stuff i have downloaded i
would need to take a BIG loan , but yeah i try to buy some
records now and then.

you should buy all music... why would you just draw the line
and just buy independant? Come on... people still put work
into the music, and again, no matter how much some people
may have, they deserve to get paid...

I do download stuff every now and then... not a whole lot
though, but I do... but I ain't going to try and convince
myself it is right... it's stealing... I steal... but, I see
everyone around me doing it, so I might as well... it ain't
right, but I do it...
