The sea? eh? I'm not *from* anywhere. I was born in london and have spent equal amounts of time living in Paris and various bits of the UK. Technically I'm half english, quater welch, quater french but personally I feel 100% nothing. If asked I'd probably say I prefer France but that doesn't come with a sense of 'belonging' or rather 'being from' there.

If you think about it, the date should really go yy/mm/dd as our numerical system goes
largest->smallest 135467009
As it is, dd/mm/yy makes a bit of sense as its the order you're most likely to need the information (I rarely know the day off the top of my head, but I almost always know which month it is). It also makes sense as the sizes of units increase, albeit in the other direction
smallest->largest
Writing mm/dd/yy is utterly illogical, causes no end of problems in computing and it wouldn't suprise me if it was "one of those things" the Americans did during the romantic era to distinguish themselves from the British (like adopting spellings that were already outdated back then) as a stand in way of being seen to have a culture.

the uk is shite though. that's why there's so much good music, because there's fuck all else to do other than write music when the weather and people outside are so wank.
i'm in lithuania at the moment and i dread going back to the uk in august. after i've finished uni in the uk i intend to get the hell out permanently.
uk = lots of wankers, terrible weather
