mylittlesister,

I see that you're 18. Give it time your view will change.

so if qualifications mean nothing then is there anything
wrong with what corrupted-girl said here?:
"Education, carrers all that is just a form of government
control on society."

what's the rush?

A point I had was just so you guys don't assume I'm trying
to drill kids with work is that I do believe children should
play and are pressured into stuff, I'm just saying that
imagine if you could or realized u could study the stuff you
want to study now back when you were a kid? Like I said
before, not even necessarily with school, like practicing
skating or gymnastics. Just imagine if you could start
studying/practicing the stuff you love now when you were a
little kid. Interesting concept.

I'm just now realizing that you shouldn't waste your youth.
So I want to make the best out of physical activities
etc...while I can still do it. I know i'm still young, but I
was talking with my friend and we're like remember when we
were little and we always did stuff like played basketball
and skated and stuff, and now we basically just sit around
like lazyasses on the computer and shit. So before my youth
goes to waste I want to start making the best out of my
ability. I just bought a trampoline recently, heh, always
wanted one of those.

Er sweet. I think you're missing the point. Thats just going
a bit too far. Education is a rights of passage if you will.
You know what I mean, you learn the basics of the English
language, maths, geography, history etc etc? It gives you
the basics if you will? Don't know what you're talking about
with this Government control of society stuff. Kids are just
there to learn maths, english and a few other basic things
to start them off in life. Don't take it so seriously. All
I'm suggesting, is that you can be poor at school and still
get somewhere in life. You're young take this advice
literally and you'll be free of any societal constraints.
Get a 9-5 job for life, don't get one, do something entirely
different, whatever. There are plenty and plenty of options
and ways one can live ones life in the 20th century. Don't
get bogged down in views by people who essentially have gone
no where in their lives, they're poor examples. :-)

See, I'd love if I knew a lot more school knowledge when I
was younger, then I could be doing better now and eventually
end up with a better well paying carrer. Maybe be the
marine-biologist I've always wanted to me. I really don't
see that happening... maybe they'd be a better chance of it
if I was more highly educated at a younger age, maybe i'd
have more "drive".

But then, I think childhood is soo important... on you're
whole life. It has a huge impact on your life and who you
are.
But yet again I didn't have the best childhood so I do kinda
wish I was one of those child genesis and would now be a
marine-biologist. Man.. would I love that.

Last post addressed to mylittlesister not Asche XL.

Oh Asche XL, nothing like living now. The past is the past,
we all wish we done this or that, doesn't change the
present.

What other options are there besides 9-5 jobs that will
allow you to be well off? And how many 9-5 jobs are there
that aren't working at Mc Donalds drive-thru that pay well
and require a high school diploma or more?
I mean, if you wanna be well-off and financially secure you
most likely will need a high school and probably more.

corrupted-girl,

On the contrary the fact that you may feel uneducated say in
comparison to your peers is excellent. That'll give you
plenty of drive to say 'fuck you, I'll show you how its
done'.

don't mean to be getting all etymological on yo ass, but how
do define "waste". and how is this "waste" a bad thing?

We're all slaves to money. That's what it comes down to.
Education. carrers... slaves.

corrupted-girl,

Well I'm not gonna tell you how to run your life. But maybe
you'll figure out an appropriate formula sooner or later.

Put it this way someone who is relying on a 9-5 job
scenario, is not someone who is planning on going somewhere
in life. You're already entering life with too much fear.
The question you ought to be asking yourself is 'what do I
want to do (or more importantly what do I want to do which I
can enjoy but also I can enjoy even more because I'm making
loads of money at it) and how do I go about achieving it'.
Thats a good place to start. You see life has plenty of
obstacles and part of the challenge is moving around them.

Yes, I know that. But I don't have the money nor the drive
to spend 7 extra years of schooling in university to reach
my wants in life. Carrer wise.
I wish I did...

Hey!! heh, nah I can.....sorta =p

I guess each person has their own version of "waste" but my
version of wasting is sitting inside on a nice day. Not
living up to your physical potential, etc.... This
discussion is getting way more complex than I would have
imagined. Which is a good thing I suppose. =)

Who says you have to? You don't understand, you're putting
up to many boundaries to life.

I'd be happy having a proffesion like a marine-bio or a
doctor or something high above that pays very well. You know
how many years it takes to be that?

mylittlesister,

Trust me its in your mind. You'll get more insight as to
what I'm saying when you move into the work world or
whatever. You have to appreciate that life is extremely
amorphous, there is no set path and the only boundaries we
put up are the ones we invent ourselves. Don't listen to
friggen' teachers about what you can and can't do. Shit
they're the worst people to take advice from, their world is
the school, what the fuck would they know about the real
world. You can do as you please and be what you want, thats
the only mantra you need.

education? Is there a way to just skip em and still get a
PhD.. huh huh

just opening your minds up a little to other ways of seeing
things.

i'm also a high school senior and i feel my learning process
as of now is stunted to some degree, as far as the education
provided at school.

some classes provide more education than others.

there's only about 22 days left until i graduate. i am much
looking forward to the potential educational services
provided at college/uni.

Im pretty open minded and I do think if you work hard at
what you want you're most likely gonna get it.

Im just bitter and hate standards of society... I don't wnat

I'm still sceptical at (the American Dream of) "work hard
and you will acheive", because there are so many
discriminations. Equal opportunities still need to be
ensured.

this thing about school not being as important as people
believe, is what i was trying to get at earlier, when i said
"my personal meaning of life is 'to get good
qualifications and get a good job'"
. because i dont
think that that is how it should be.

"I know a lot of people who fuck up in high school, or even

in first year university, because they simply felt pressured

into going straight into school and learning more without
really even feeling confident or knowing much about
themselves."
my friends I just want to say one thing: DON'T go to
university or college or whatever, unless YOU want to. don't
dive back into school just because your parents or your
society or your peer group or whatever tells you it's not
optional, it's required... because all you're going to get
out of the educational system (and this goes for any
educational system anywhere) is equal to what YOU put into
it. and if you're not willing to make the effort (like me)
or you don't think it's worth it, then you should not waste
your time and money (like I did). there's a lot of other
good and helpful and lovely stuff in this world besides
school, is all
