yeah second hand mainly, athough they do still make analog synths, but expect to pay thru the nose for them
you can get analog modelling synths which sound just as good but lack the character a little (analog components tend to be unstable and warm up and de-tune slightly)
and there's always room for analog i guess, alot of electro relies on the analog sound of the drums and the basslines

It was definetly ahead of its time when it was released, and has been able to stand up to the test of time. It seems like sometimes Mikey P dosn't get recognized as the pioneer of the genre that he is, but that may be a result of some of his more promoted releases being some of his worst *cough royal astronomy cough*, but even those arn't bad. Can't wait for the his new one, too bad he got so bent out of shape about it being leeked online.

I've been listening to it straight for about a week. I now see what all the fuss is about. I was also letting my expectations get in the way - sort of a biased filter if you will.

THe slow beautiful melodies are highly contrasted by fast distorted breaks....hmm.....
One question: The liner notes suggest that mu-ziq is a "duo". Last time I checked mu-ziq was a singular Mikey P. Who the hell is this other guy?
Thanks :)
