prodigy - got me into early 90's hardcore and onto aphex ,µ
ziq etc ultimately
aphex-"saw 1" and "on" were inspirational
arab strap for showing how well minimalism could be done
which lead onto godspeed, mogwai etc

and currently porcupine tree who just blow me away on so
many levels

each to their own ultimately

why is it so hard? the thread title is:
5 Musicians that have changed your life.

5. FIVE. the number that comes after 4.

i dont care for your excuses, its like this in all these
threads.

'what? only 5? well i know at least 500 blablabla' and then
these replies to your own topics 'oh wait i forgot to
mention ...'
stick to your initial thoughts. nobody gives a toss ok. it
makes the thread a fucking mess.

anyway here goes:

i.n.p.o.

1. aphex twin
2. boards of canada
3. dillinja
4. prodigy
5. cypress hill

have a nice day =)

85-92+rdj album

including my own

The doors:
Fascinated by the life of Jim Morrison, great music and got
me into Velvet Underground, Hendrix, Led Zep.
Metallica:
Only the 4 first albums, got me into guitarplaying. It's
painfull to see how they evolved.
Crowded House: Introduced beautiful pop. Got me into
singer/songwriter stuff.
Tori Amos: Almost accindently saw her live way back and got
me into female singer/songwriters
Aphex Twin: Opened a whole new world of music to me. I
almost wrote the years 94-95 (don't pin me on releasedates
:). In a short time I bought, I care because you do, SAW II,
Patashnik, Snivilisation, Advance and Lifeforms. All bloody
classics now. It was an overwhelming period.

Hm. It's a hard question.

Aphex Twin - We all know why

Nobuo Uematsu - Made me realise (when I was about ten
years old) that classical music is beautiful.

Koji Kondo - Composer of all the Mario Games and
Zelda Games.

Joe Hisaishi - Incredible Classical musicican. Makes
soundtracks for most of Ghibli's works, esp. Hayao
Miyazaki.

Yoko Kanno - Makes classical music, jazz, techno ...

(Merzbow) - Merzbow's "music" changed my opinion of
music for, well yes, forever.

There's to many talents to be mentioned.
