Another thing i hated in kart64 were the annoying bats in
the ghosthouse level... there's almost nothing you can do to
avoid them.... suddenly you're just stuck in a huge swarm of
bats.

Same goes for the penguins in the ice-level.

And the hedgehogs in yoshi's valley.

The only enemies that didn't annoy me are the moles on that
farm... atleast you could avoid those.

Super Mario Bros. 2 for nintendo didnt seem to fit in with
1 and just seemed out of place, they came back hardcore with
3 though..lol 1 is still my fav though !

the marios rock. i like super mario world especially, but
nothing beats those teddy bear suits and the hammer brother
suits from mario 3.

is it true that the reason that mario 2 is so wacky and out
of place is because it was a different game in japan, and
instead of releasing mario 2 (lost levels) they gave us some
other game with mario characters?

Super Mario 64 is a masterpiece...
Donkey Kong Country too!

those were so great... *nostalgia* : )

i liked Mario Golf on n64 too (and Mario Tennis wasn't bad
either), and of course Super Mario World on Snes...

i played Mario Sunshine but it disappointed me (like most
Gamecube games, sadly)...

"is it true"

yes, that is correct.
And it turned out to be the best (imo) nes mario-game :-)

All the levels feel so lively... there is so much to do, and
most of the enemies are totally bizarre and really tickle
your imagination.

Only levels i didn't like in it are the ones where you have
to dig vertically down through the sand.

And i suppose fighting the same old boss-character at the
end of each stage got a bit repetitive... but it
never really bothered me.

2 might be my fav, but i feel like i'm speaking heresy when
i say it, since it's not a "true" mario bros originally.

Mmm... heh, mario was the referee in Mike Tysons punch-out.
does that count?

I could never beat the sandman

when played by yourself but this one doesnt...

I still need to play that one. I played it for a few hours a
year or so ago and then forgot about. It was a great game
though.

super mario rpg was never released in europe :-( :-( I would
have loved to play it though!

I did play Paper Mario and enjoyed it immensely... excellent
wonderful game... dare i say it's even better than mario64?
:-o

It's a bit on the easy side, so doesn't last very long...
but while it lasts it's an incredible experience... classic
nintendo magic from start to finnish!

Now i feel like replaying it :-)

If you ever do get around to playing it, be sure to listen
to what the little goomba has to say all the time... he has
something to say about every location in the game, and it's
often very funny/tongue-in-cheeck... i loved the little
fella :-p

nobody has mentioned the crap but fun "Mario Painting"
(SNES).
I had some good times with my friends playing with that.
There were a lot of penises on the screen though when we
were young, bored, and immature.

for anyone who hasn't played it, I recommend Supermario RPG
on the SNES, might as well advertise a great mario game
whilst we're on the topic. ;)
