It's easy to understand people from soulseekrecords being
angry when discover this don't you think??

It sounds like the only reason you're all upset is because
you think you're going to sell less records...

Ok can all the slsk people please stop flaming?

sellings?at all, we are upset because you literally copied
our idea, and then you do not said nothing to us, a
collaboration is a nice idea... now we had to "discover"
this.

What a lack of imagination on the name of the project too,
don't you think

it out while it lasts! :D

Yeah man, the xltronic guys are making more sense than us
right now. It was just an idea, and if no one was to copy
it ever, the great idea would just be a curiosity.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, friends. Slsk
1MM was so hot that now idm kids the world over want to copy
it :D

offline plagasul from Barcelona (Slovenia) on 2003-02-21 18:18 [#00565544]
Points: 18 Status: Addict

stoping the flaming, i guess that if you liked the 1MM
idea... it's ok for me others to use it and do something
similar, but of course your behaviour with the creators of
1MM and soulseekrecords had been... like bad? can be this
accepted¿

yes - all is forgiven - a little credit to slsk records in
the final copy would be nice :D

I will not mark your words.. anyone that does that will have
to redo their part.. and in the end this thing won't be
titled "Music Massacre" or anything like that

offline theo himself from +- on 2003-02-21 18:23 [#00565558]
Points: 3348 Status: Regular

btw.. I dont think soulseek has sold more than 2 copies of
that shit anyway

offline plagasul from Barcelona (Slovenia) on 2003-02-21 18:25 [#00565563]
Points: 18 Status: Addict

i think you are trying to say that this is not a exact copy
of the 1mm, but it is, the second 1MM is getting better and
we learned and improved the conexions to get 2 big songs,
not just a lot of small songs.

Btw 'that shit' isn't released yet. We don't measure
downloads but i'm pretty sure a helluva lot of peaople have
streamed it already. Like yourself theo.

whoa whoa whoa...

a. thats irrelevant
b. regardless of how many copies we have sold, its ours :)
c. we have sold more than 2 by far, belive me :)

yea I listened to it.. (so)? and referring to it as that
shit isn't all that far off .. why is there a website
selling it at soulseekrecords.com if it isn't released yet

"btw.. I dont think soulseek has sold more than 2 copies of
that shit anyway "

I pitty the fact that we even mentioned sales. The point is
that we're a non-profit record label, and, being born from a
P2P application, it wouldn't make sense to make money off
our music. All the releases are well shared on soulseek, and
even on websites.
The only reason we're releasing this on cd as well, is
because people want cd's. If there's sufficient demand, we
can supply. We don't want to make money off this, so
mentioning we have to sell our releases was probably a
stupid step..

offline MrSuperbo from Glasgow (United Kingdom) on 2003-02-21 18:32 [#00565578]
Points: 12 Status: Addict

Oh yeah and also to sell our two other cds.

"We don't measure downloads.."

Hehe, sure we do, my server has streamed 4684 tracks off
slsk002 (1MMv1) since Jan 2003 (total traffic: 13 GB)

I'm not sure about humbleice's server, but since he's Server
1 in the streaming media config, I think he's somewhere
around that as well :)

offline theo himself from +- on 2003-02-21 18:37 [#00565582]

it's not irrelvant because you want credit for something and
feel we are doing something that threatens you.. we are
doing all original songs.. none of them are stolen from your
music massacre thing.. and there's no reason for us to give
u credit for anything.. there's no copywrite or protection
of any kind for the idea of one person starting a track and
having everyone else develop it.. so this music massacre
thing is not yours, and we can do as many of these as we
want without having to consult you or give u credit for
somethign u don't have ur hand in

personnaly i don't think we have to own the copyright of
this idea.

But deep in your forums lay the evidence that this project
comes from slskrex 1mm project.

am i wrong?

You know what though, go ahead and think what you want...you
are the one who is completly blind to the fact that the name
and the idea was pretty much lifted off of us. You GOT the
idea from us did you not? Anyway, im sick of argueing this
point with you...everyone else agrees for the most part and
has come to some kind of happy medium

Also deep in our forums lies ideas exactly like this one,
some a year and a half old or more. I remember people
passing around .flps or something for someone else to fiddle
around with and then pass it on, other similar ideas.

You know...theo, you are the only one who is acting
particularly bitter about this whole issue, from this forum
anyway...you are the only one STILL trying to cause an
argument. Why?

offline theo himself from +- on 2003-02-21 18:45 [#00565606]

umm.. no I'm not.. you're the ones that are crying in every
third thread about how we're "stealing" you're idea

I'm still arguing because u'r wrong.

right...we are wrong, tell you what, why dont we 9slsk) take
one of your ideas *if you have any original ones* life the
name from the project, change just a lil bit, and then call
it ours. Then who is right and who is wrong?

Yeah, let's stop the arguing, the name will be changed and
let's leave it at that. We've already reached an agreement.
Nothing's gonna be solved or proven or anything by rambling
on.
